Laurence: Chapter Three

Nicole and Dante had called us all into Aphmau's house for a game of truth or dare. She explained the game and I think it'll be very fun later.

Katelyn had just gone upstairs to get Nicole's muffin and was just sitting down. She called Donna.

"Donna." Katelyn said. Donna stopped leaning on Logan and looked up. "Truth or dare?"

"Truth" Donna said.

I sighed. This would be hard for Katelyn seeing as she barely knew Donna. Instead of calling someone else Katelyn simply grinned and continued.

"Other than Logan," She looked at Nicole, probably asking if she got his name right. "who is the hottest guard here?"

Kawaii~Chan and Kiki giggled and Lucinda and Aphmau rolled their eyes at each other.

"Yeah, Donna? Who should I watch out for?" Logan said, arms crossed. We all stared at her and she started blushing.

"Well, personally I think Laurence is still a hunk." Donna said smiling. We all laughed remembering that time on the beach when all the girls (and strangely Brendan) were watching Ungrth and I. Personally I hated my hair then but Cadenza said it would look good. I looked at Cadenza across the room from me and she laughed.

"But I still love Logan a hundred times more." Donna said beaming.

Logan rolled his eyes and gave Donna a short kiss causing Kiki to let out an 'aww'

After another minute we realized that it was actually Donna's turn still.

"Oh!" Donna exclaimed. "Uh. Cadenza! Truth or dare?"

"Truth." Cadenza replied sighing.

"I don't wanna start any fights so when did you meet Kenmur?" Donna asked.

Cadenza giggled. "Oh! Uh. well, Laurence knew him before I did." She said glancing at me. "Kenmur grew up in Meteli and I met him when I was around five." She looked at me again and I nodded. "When Hayden took me in, he showed me around the village and I met Kenmur at his parent's house."

I smiled, remembering the day Cadenza came to Meteli. Her village had burnt down and Hayden had taken her to live with himself. I was eight at the time and Sasha and I were still friends. After that I became the previous lord's guard and guarded Cadenza like she was my sister.

"Speaking of which." Cadenza smirked at me. "Laurence. Truth or dare?"

I grinned at her and immediately yelled dare.

"Haha! I knew it!"Cadenza laughed. "I dare you to let Lucinda turn you into an animal."

I looked at Lucinda who shrugged. "You can do that?"

"Cadenza asked me a while back if I could help prank you one day." Lucinda said smiling.

"And Lucinda said she could make a potion to turn you into a random animal for a few minutes." Cadenza added.

"You're actually going to make me an animal?" I asked in disbelief. I didn't know you could do that safely with witchcraft. Sure, Aphmau's been a wolf and an owl before, but happening to myself? I never expected anything like this when I met Aphmau.

"Yep!" Lucinda giggled. "Ask Aphmau, it's painless and easy."

"Yeah right! Sure it was painless but I had to drink soup with spiders in it!" Aphmau argued.

"Hey, I told you magick isn't always pretty!" Lucinda replied, shrugging her shoulders.

"Ooh!" Kawaii~Chan exclaimed. "So Laurence~Senpai's going to be a cute fuzzy animal?"

"Maybe." Lucinda said. "We'll see what he gets."

Cadenza and Lucinda left to grab a potion from her house. They came back laughing and Kiki was already excited to see me as an animal.

"So." Lucinda started. "You're going to drink this potion and it'll turn you into any animal. You'll still feel like yourself so it's completely safe, and if you have the immense need to communicate just go sit with Kiki."

I had completely forgotten that Kiki could talk to animals.

"But everyone else be prepared, he might become something as tiny as an ant. No squishing him!" Lucinda warned and I swallowed.

"Thanks for that, Lucinda." I gulped.

"No problem, honey!" Lucinda giggled. She gave me the potion and I looked at Aphmau. She nodded and I gulped the potion.

I slowly felt myself shrinking and before I knew it I passed out. When I woke up Kiki, Donna, Cadenza, Lucinda, and Kawaii~Chan were crowded around my face. I yelped and tried to scramble up, remembering what happened.

I should've just taken off one of my socks.

But I had to be bold.

I looked down at my arms and I realized that I was on four legs. It felt like crawling but a bit easier and more comfortable. My legs were a furry yellow-ish color and I had small golden paws.

"Ta daa!" Lucinda sang. "He's a puppy!"

The girls giggled and I tried to scowl.

"Cadenza, what did you do?" Dante groaned. Levin, Dante, Garroth, and Brendan offered me sympathetic looks and Logan was practically growling at Lucinda. Then he turned to me and offered another sympathetic look. Logan was a werewolf though, so he somewhat knew what I was going through. Somewhat.

"I just made him adorable!" Cadenza squealed as she picked me up.

"Would of been cuter if he was a corgi." Aphmau said as she crawled over to pet me.

"So, Laurence." Lucinda started. "If you didn't notice, you're a golden retriever puppy."

I tried to scowl and I remembered Kiki could translate for me.

"Did you know I was going to be a dog?" I tried to say. It turned into a bark but Kiki understood and translated as the girls cooed again.

"Oh yeah." Cadenza said smiling from behind me. "I chose golden retriever because they're so adorable!" She kissed the top of my head and I whined.

"Aww." Kawaii~Chan sighed.

"Hey Laurence, I think Aphmau might actually love you now." Dante said smirking.

I growled at him and Aphmau laughed, petting my head.

"Now if everyone could just stop obsessing over Laurence could we move on?" Nicole said. We locked eyes and I could tell she was trying not to laugh. Nicole was a great guard friend. I just wished her games didn't cause me to end up as a puppy.

"Sure." Kiki said.

"Brendan, truth or dare?" I barked as Kiki translated.

"Truth." Brendan answered. I think he was a little nervous after my dare. But then again he is Brendan...

"What was the worst lie you told?" I said. Brendan looked to Kiki to translate and she rolled her eyes before repeating my question.

"Um. That I'm not a stalker?" Brendan said, shrinking against the wall. The girls all laughed and Nicole and Kawaii~Chan gave each other pointed looks.

Me: What did he say Kiki?

Kiki: Nothing he's just annoyed.
