Aphmau: Chapter Ten

Laurence and Nicole came back in the basement a few minutes after me. Laurence's face had taken on a pale color and Nicole was trying not to laugh.

"Laurence, are you okay?" Cadenza asked softly. He groaned and sat with her and Nicole chuckled.

"Lucinda, truth or dare?" Laurence asked.

"Truth." She said, staring warily at Nicole, who giggled and waved.

"Have you ever cursed anyone and what was it?"

I smiled. Lucinda was a great friend, though we got off to a rocky start. She called me honey, a lot and princess and sister. It was weird. Then she fed me soup with spider eyes in it and turned me into a wolf pup. But we learned how sweet she was when she healed Logan and woke up her father. Speaking of him, I hadn't seen him in a while. Was he okay? The Lord of Pikoro Village was a very old man when I last saw him 15 years ago.

"Well, dear." She started. "I once cursed a guy who turned me into a cat for 5 weeks. It was really annoying. He was still in training and forgot to un-turn me. Ugh."

"So..." Kiki started. "What did you do?"

"Well, I did what was fair. I turned him into a cat for 5 years." She said smiling.

I looked around. Everyone but Nicole was edging slowly away from Lucinda. Nicole just smiled. She was strange sometimes...

"Well, that was nice." Katelyn said uncomfortably.

"Story time!" Cadenza yelped! Bouncing on the floor. "When I was a chicken,  I met that cat, I think."

"What was his name?" Nicole asked.

"He didn't say." Cadenza sighed. "He went by a nickname. Shadow."

"Yep that's him." Lucinda said sighing.

"Anyways, Shadow was really antisocial at first but after a while, we both established that we were cursed and he helped me out. He's back in Meteli though."

"Well, that means he's smarter, because the Shadow I knew was a complete moron." Lucinda said rolling her eyes.

"Lucinda~Chan!" Kawaii~Chan squealed.

"Anyways, Garroth." She said facing him. "Truth or dare?"

Again, he didn't answer. Nicole started to hum the Jeopardy! theme. Garroth snuck a glance at me before answering dare.

"Splendid!" Lucinda said. "Kiss Aphmau."

"What?" I said. Garroth's face immediately turned red and he snuck a panicked glance towards Lucinda.

"Oh, c'mon!" Nicole exclaimed. "You know you love her Garroth! Aphmau you can't say you feel absolutely nothing for Garroth!"

"So," Lucinda said. "I did sense love all those years ago."

"Well, you can't have my love for Aphmau, Lucinda!" Laurence exclaimed jauntily.

"Wait, do I get a say in this dare?" I said, turning towards Nicole.

"Nope!" She said giggling. "If there's more than two people involved, they get a say but since it's just two..."

"Tough luck." Emmalyn finished.

I sighed and Garroth was still looking towards the ground. I didn't know what I felt for Garroth. He was a great guy, but he was still my friend.

"Aphmau, you don't need to do this." He said, glancing up.

"It's a dare." I said shrugging. "I don't turn down dares."

Nicole started giggling and Emmalyn and a few others girls started talking about how a ship had sailed. What?

I crawled over to Garroth who leaned in and kissed me. It was amazing. He was so sweet and my heart sped up and I was kissing him back. This was Garroth. I could count on him, my guard. My best friend.

"Get a room, you two!" Dante yelled laughing. Everyone was smiling, even Logan and Katelyn. Kiki whipped out her phone and Nicole already had hers up.

Garroth pulled away quickly and Lucinda was laughing.

"Priceless!" She cackled. "The look on your face when you realized Nicole was filming!"

Embarrassed, Garroth ran at her, only for her to vanish into thin air. I looked around to see an orange butterfly perched on Garroth's head.

"Garroth, there's something on your..." Donna started. Nicole slapped her and she shut up, giggling.

"Garroth, it's your turn." I said, still blushing from the kiss.

Then, Lucinda turned back, sitting on Garroth's shoulders and they fell backwards together.
