It was raining today so that means I would have to run to the library. Fun. Lucy use to come with me but she was more focused on getting her stuff packed for college. I changed my cloths (outfit above) and grabbed my bag. I walked down stairs and told Mrs Georgia I won't be eating breakfast. Instead I was eating at the library because if I got there early I would get first dibs on Nana's homemade donuts. I rushed out the door and ran towards the library. Once I got inside I put down my umbrella and greeted Margret as usual. I walked over to Nana's little area. She had her own cafe here in the library so people could eat and drink while reading a book. I took one of her homemade donuts and a hot chocolate. I loved it when Nana made food. She makes the best chocolate chip cookies. I ate my breakfast quickly. I walked over to the counter drinking the last of my hot chocolate.
"Do you have any work for my today?" I asked throwing away the plastic cup.
"Actually. I have to go to my granddaughters concert. Will you stay behind the counter for me and check out books?" She asked getting her coat.
"I'd love to" I said helping her with her yellow rain coat.
"You're such a sweet heart Ellie" she said getting her umbrella.
"Thank you Miss Harrison" I said standing behind the counter. After she left it was a slow day so there wasn't a lot going on. I only had to check out one or two books. I was reading my own book when a man slid a book in front of me. I looked up to see the man I met yesterday who got the Shakespeare book.
"Hello sir" I said taking the book.
"Hello. A little bit rainy isn't it?" He asked with a smile.
"Yeah" I said laughing a little bit while checking out his book, "at least it's not pouring."
"I'm Tom, Tom Hiddleston" he said reaching out to shake my hand. I shook his large hand with a smile.
"I'm Ellie Dawson" I said.
"It's very nice to meet you Ellie. Maybe sometime we could get to know each other. You seem like a nice girl" Tom said.
"That's because she is" Nana said walking over with a cookie fresh from the oven.
"Thank you" I said taking a bite of the warm cookie.
"She's been helping out here ever since she was 5. Poor kid had to deal with me all the time" Nana said getting a coffee, "she's very helpful."
"Anything else I should know about Mrs Dawson?" Tom asked Nana.
"She's an orphan. She's originally from Boston" Nana said giving me a pat on the back.
"I heard Boston is nice" Tom said.
"I haven't been there in 11 years" I said smiling.
"Well Ellie I'd love to get to know you more" Tom said giving me a paper with numbers on it, "maybe I could come to the library and we could have some coffee."
"I'd love that Mr Hiddleston" I said smiling.
"Please call me Tom. Mr Hiddleston makes me feel old" he said before leaving the library. Why did his name sound so familiar? After Tom had left Margret came through the door with her Granddaughter ,Amelia. Amelia was my age and she was my friend.
"Hi Ellie!" She said with a smile as her ginger curls bounced as she ran to the counter to greet me.
"Hi Amelia!" I said hugging her. Me and Amelia began putting books on the shelf. Soon I was saying "no" to Miss Harrison paying me $5. Then I was walking back home in the cold rain. I looked at the piece of paper with the numbers on it. I smiled. Maybe I'll call him tomorrow. He seemed like a pretty cool guy.
