Elena's POV

Back to school in my new look, palms sweating Caroline and Bonnie were next to me and I felt a little less nervous I just had to remember that no matter hat I'm still me and no clothes is going to change that. We cut across the grass towards the two story gray and burgundy building I looked up at the tall long white windows and saw figures of people hanging around, catching up. I kept my head down looking at the feet in front of me making sure I didn't run into anyone. We walked through the burgundy double doors and smiled as I walked towards my locker, people smiled and went on like this something normal for me. When we reached my locker Caroline went to talk to Stacey on the other side of the hall way and Bonnie stayed with me leaning against the black locker next to my red one and she was telling me about this new show that was on tv last night, I smiled as she went or tied to go into detail about the show when a pair of arms grabbed me and spun me around.

"Hey gorgeous." Matt whispered as his forehead touched mine. I gave him a shy smile and continued to look for my english paper. I rummaged through my locker a bit more before finding it behind my books in the back of my locker. I sighed a happy sigh that it's not crumpled up for being back there so long.

I close my locker and walk with my hand wrapped around Matt's as he walks me towards my first period, I told him that there was no need for him to walk me too class but he insisted. We walked down the hall and smiled at our friends we passed. There were as usual people gathered around Caroline's locker waiting for the latest gossip. She somehow smiled and waved at us over the small people that gathered around.

Mrs. Strong my English teacher still wasn't there yet so I stood outside the room talking to Matt.

"The other day, Tyler and I were playing Fallout 3 when a bird crashed into the window and long story short I have a pet bird it's a Green Heron, it's small and I got it a bird cage and would you like to come see it after school." He looked so happy, I couldn't say no.

"Of course, what'd you name your little friend?" I asked looking around for the teacher, who still hasn't passed.

"I was thinking Chester," I burst out laughing at how uncommon that would be for a bird. I covered my laugh in attempt to calm my laugh. I waved my hand and stood up straight holding in my breath so he can see that it wasn't that funny.

Mrs. Strong was coming this way so I told Matt that I'll see him in Chemistry and kissed him on the cheek before walking through the wooden door, placing my paper on the long wooden desk were the papers were already pilled up before going to take my seat in the middle of the room next on my left and Bonnie on my right. I smiled at each other them and told them a small 'hi' before sitting on my assigned seat and taking out my notebook just as the teacher walked in.

"An hour and a half listening to him go on and on about; commas, periods, colons and so on. I didn't think I could here him go on and on about punctuation, I felt as if my soul was slowly dying of boredom" Bonnie laughed at my little spell and stefan thought I was being over dramatic as usual. I faked hurt and turned the other cheek. He just thought now I was just being a brat.

We passed by my class first and I just took any seat Mr. Duran (Spanish teacher) didn't really mind where we sat. I smiled at the people I talked to during this period I felt butterflies as the thought of Matt came to mind his golden brown tossed about hair, his dreamy blue eyes and that boy next door smile that comes to his face like its meant to belong there. We went over the alphabet and how the letters are spelled and pronounced. This class was more entertaining than the last I can say that much but I couldn't wait to go see Matt and his new bird. Chemistry with Ms. Mack was fun I had Stefan in that class and he made the fire change to different colors which was amazing until we got yelled at that we aren't supposed to be playing with fire.
