When I woke up, I realised it was late, only 20 minutes before Will would come to pick me up. Last night he called, and we decided that leaving early would be the best, since there was a 2 hours and a half drive to Cleveland, and another half an hour to the lake house. It meant we needed 6 hours only for our drive to and from the lake house, but we also needed time to take the best shots of the property for the wedding planner.

I barely had time for a short shower, pulled some clothes on, grabbed a backpack that I prepared last night, and went to the kitchen.

- "Morning Mamie", I voiced sliding down the railing. Mamie threw up her hands:

- "I can't believe it Missy! How many times I told you to stop sliding down the railing? How many times I told you that it could be really dangerous? Like breaking a bone or even your neck? Kids these days!"

- "I'm sorry Mamie. I didn't want to upset you! I'm really sorry!"

- "You're late Missy. You should have been here at least half an hour ago, your ride is waiting. Take these, it's your breakfast and a few snacks, but that doesn't mean I forgive you, or that you're off the hook for the earlier. Come on, William is waiting in the car, since he declined my invitation to enter for a few minutes".

We got out. In the driveway was a large black SUV. William got out of the car:

- "Good morning, Megan. I hope you're ready for the trip", and he opened the car door for me.

- "Morning, I'm sorry you had to wait for me. I overslept".

- "Don't worry, I was here less than five minutes. Don't worry Ms. Smith I'll take care of Megan, we should be back by dinnertime". Will took the backpack from me and I got in.

Mamie handed me the packed breakfast:

- "I count on that. Don't speed! Drive carefully! And don't forget your meals!" Mamie had moist eyes.

- "Mamie come on, I'm not leaving forever you know, please, don't cry! We'll be careful, I promise. Bye, Mamie".

- "Bye Ms. Smith". Will got it and started the engine. Mamie didn't answer, she just waved us goodbye.

Once we were out of the city, we drove past green fields and pastures, forests and small towns. Some time later, I remembered about the breakfast that Mamie prepared for us.

- "Did you have breakfast? Because Mamie made us some breakfast, and we have some nice coffee in here too".

- "No, actually I wasn't hungry this morning, but now I could have some. How about we stop in a park for a quick meal? There is a park on our left in about 2 miles".

- "All right. I think that will work".

We stopped in a parking lot by the park, it was only 8 o'clock, but it was already hot. Will opened the trunk and pulled out a blanket.

- "Do you always carry a blanket with you?"

- "No, I don't, this was George's idea, he helped me pack a few things last night, and he said that is better to have one, just in case. And also he convinced Dad to lend me his car, it works better for the roads near the lake house".

- "Well, then we'll have to thank him for it, when we get back".

Something in Will's manners made me smile. He was always a gentleman, opening the doors for me, helping me out, appearing in the right moments, and just saving the day lately. As cliché as it may sound I thought for a second that for me he is a version of Clark Kent, and that thought made me blush.
