Alyssa
"Lock the doors and don't leave, I'll be back at four." Melissa says and leaves for work. My dad left for work early this morning so worrying about him wasn't that nerve wracking. Jack and I looked at the clock and it read twelve on the dot. Jack and I had four hours to figure out stuff about me.
"Let's do this." He claps his hands together and we start in their room. "I'll look under the bed, you look in the closet." I say. Melissa and dad had a huge bed that had a big enough space for me to fit under. "There's nothing under here." I say and crawl back out. "I found a box." Jack says and pulls it out.
We sit in the floor and open the box labeled "90s". I dig through and see pictures of my dad with really bad haircuts and at parties. "Your dad was out there wasn't he?" He says. I shake my head. "Every one of his friends would say that he was actually really quiet, he was only at a couple of parties and they were very little."
Jack and I dig for more pictures and see him standing with a woman on Christmas. "Who's that?" Jack asks me. I sigh and grasp the picture. "That was my 'mom', I always wanted her to love me. Of course she was young and didn't want a baby. I loved her a lot though. She ended up leaving when I was three." I explain. And it was true. She never loved me, wouldn't play with me, and she was very clingy with dad.
"I'm sorry, Alyssa." Jack says sincerely. I wave him off and continue to look. "Ah, it fine. I only remember very little of her anyways." After digging forever through the closet we found nothing. "Well what now?" He asks. "We can always look through the basement now?" He suggests. I nod. "Do we have a working light down there?" I ask.
"Yeah, cmon." He says and runs to the door. I quickly check the time and notice we only have two hours left until Melissa comes back home. "Jack, what if I find something I don't want to know?" I ask. What if I find something that would change my life forever? What would happen to me? To dad? To Melissa? Jack?
"Alyssa?" Jack zones me back in from my thoughts. "I'm coming, hey we only have two hours left by the way so we have to make it quick." Jack turns on the light and walks to the shelf of boxes. There weren't that many I took the left side while Jack took the right. I mainly found many pictures of Jack's dad and mom's wedding. "Jack you look so much like your dad." I laugh.

I know it's kind of weird to snoop through stuff that isn't ours, but Alyssa seemed really concerned about the incident that happened yesterday. I decided it'd be nice to help her. She and I laughed at the pictures of my mom and dad and what they looked like back then. It was pretty funny with the poofy hair and bowl cuts.
After a while of looking we quit talking to each other because we were so into what we were doing. I come across this big box with read letters that read "Alyssa" on the front. I dust the top off and open to see what's inside. There were baby pictures and her on Christmas. I laughed at the pictures and walked over to her.
"Hey Alyssa look at this." I set the box down and showed her the pictures. "You were so cute." I say and laugh. "Thanks, I think I looked like a gremlin." She says. She's wrong, she was cute and had big dimples. I look in the box some more while she looks in her box. I come across a flyer with a picture of a baby.
