"And remember, Drama Members, the meeting will go on until the play, so don't go home right after school. Have a great day Davidson High!" The blonde news girl said on the television. Every morning that boring old "show" comes on. It's only the first semester of his freshman year, and Asher Lang is already tired of most everyone in his homeroom class, but at least he can get away from it all during drama and band.

Asher has always been outgoing and fun, but in the morning when he has to deal with Mrs. Brown, he isn't as happy. He loves to act, and sing, but he's come to the conclusion that he cannot sing for the life of him, so he just sticks to trumpet.

Band really helped him as he went through moving from state to state with his military family. Playing the trumpet was kind of like his getaway from it all. Although he was only third chair, he was still in love with music.

The bell rang for Asher to go to his first class, math, so he gathered up his books and mad his way to the door.

"Mr. Lang, may I have a word?" Mrs. Brown asked Asher as he was trying to get out of the classroom. He grunted under his breath and turned around to face his teacher.

"Yes ma'am?"

"I need you to give Mr. Flinn these papers," she told Asher as she flopped a stack of papers between them.

"Well, I'm late for my class, and Mr. Flinn's class is the other way, so I'm sorry, but I can't," Asher replied. Truth be told, Mr. Flinn's class was right across the hall from where Ahser was going.

"I can right you a pass," Mrs. Brown said. Asher rolled his eyes, but Mrs. Brown didn't see him. She pulled put a Post It note from her desk, and wrote "Please excuse Asher L. for being late, he was delivering some papers for me ~MB".

"Here you go sir. See you for 5th period," Mrs. Brown said. She really got on his nerves.

"Whatever," he said to himself as he left the classroom. "Guess I couldn't get out of this one."
