Some people believe that things happen for a reason.

Harry wasn't one of those people. He believed money was what made the world go 'round. He believed that there weren't such things as love, or miracles, or any type of way that would get Harry out of the hole he was in.

Boy, was he wrong.

Harry made his way out of his office. He had his black YSL bag slung over his shoulder as he sauntered into his sleek black Range Rover. He clambered in, shutting the door to rid himself from the upcoming winter weather.

The late October air had Harry's breath forming in small clouds in front of his face. Although he was safely nuzzled in his car, the leather seats and cold console made him shiver. He turned on the heater, hot air bursting through the vents, the warmth starting at his fingertips and making his way to his frosty pink cheeks and red nose.

He took a deep breath before starting his car and making his way to one of his two houses. He had a huge flat that he lived in, in Central London and a beautiful mansion on the outskirts of the city.

As he reached his flat, he turned up the radio. A news broadcaster was speaking,

"The amount of hybrids that have been found is astounding. Although their numbers are rising they are still very small in population size. There's only about 100,000 of them out there. Who knows...there might be more. Most of them lead normal lives. They hide their...symptoms fairly easily and can pass as a normal human. It's astonishing to say the least."

Harry pulled up to his flat, shutting off the radio and parking in the garage the flat had. He made his way out and onto the lift. He clicked on the sixteenth floor and leaned his head against the wall. The whirring of the lift and Harry's breathing was the only sound in the small space. He pulled out his phone, clicking it on, and reading through his recent texts.

Two from his mum and three from his sister, Gemma. He didn't bother replying, pocketing his phone just as the doors slid open. He walked down the hall, grabbing his keys from his bag and unlocking the door to his flat.

The darkness enveloped him; he flipped on the switch just as his door slid shut.

He was met with his normal empty flat, the tall windows illuminating the flat with the bright lights of Central London. The London Eye stood bright blue against the diamond lights of the city.

Harry threw his bag down on the black satin couch in the middle of his white living room. The space was cold and lonely. Harry glanced outside for a moment. He stared at the small lights, wondering.

Wondering if any one of those lights held the life of someone that would mean something to him.

He sighed and made his way to his cold room and fell asleep.
