-----

Harry was just slipping on the tie of his suit when he heard the bell ring through his apartment. Louis was sat on the floor next to him, his tail moving in slow sideways motions.

His ears perked up at the noise and he jumped slightly, gripping onto Harry's pant leg.

"It's okay, kitten. It's just my friend that I told you about. He's going to stay here with you until I come back from work." Harry explains and Louis nods, standing up.

Harry can't help but watch the small boy walks away from him, peering into the hall. He was wearing Harry's lavender jumper that was three sizes to big for him, ending just a bit past his bum and a pair of baggy briefs.

Harry looked away from him, shaking his head. He definitely should not be thinking about how pretty his curves were or how sinful he looked in the sweater.

He makes his way out of his bedroom, heading for the door with Louis trailing quietly behind him.

He opens it to reveal a smiling brunette.

"Liam, hi. Thanks for coming." Harry mutters and the man nods, pulling Harry into a small hug.

He pulls away and turns to look at Louis who was standing in the middle of the room, fiddling with his hands and his tail curling around his thigh.

"This is Louis. The one I told you about." Harry says and Liam nods, making his way towards the small boy.

"Hey. How are you?" Liam asks and Louis squeaks, running towards Harry and holding onto his arm.

"Lou, it's okay. He's my friend. He's nice." Harry tells him and Louis shakes his head frantically.

"I-I--don't leave m-me." Louis stutters, tears pooling in his eyes. Harry sighs and runs a hand through his hair.

"Love, I have to go to work. I'll be back at seven tonight and we can go out if you like. I can get you some nice clothes for you, yeah?" Louis nods and looks at Liam skeptically. The man only smiles and Louis slowly makes his way towards him.

"Y-You'll be back soon, sir?" Louis asks and Harry hums. He gives Louis a small squeeze on his bony shoulder before thanking Liam again and heading out the door.

"So...Louis." Liam says, plopping down on the couch. The small boy hesitantly sits next to him.

"Y-Yes, sir?" Louis asks shyly, moving his hair out of his eyes.

"How old are you?" Liam questions.

"S-Sixteen."

"What happened to you?" This felt like an interrogation. Louis didn't like it. Not at all. But he didn't want this man to hurt him. He had to do as he said. He's been doing this for years.

"I-I don't remember what h-happened. As l-long as I could remember I was always inside a-a room with bars for windows and a m-man who would always h-hit me. H-He said it was research. Y-You're not going to hurt me, are you?" Liam's eyes widened and he shook his head quickly.

"Now, why would you think that? I'm a friend, Louis." The small boy let out an exasperated breath, fidgeting with his tail.

"I-I'm s-sorry. I'm not used to people being nice." He whispers, not looking up. Liam frowns. This boy has been through something so traumatizing that he's afraid of everyone around him.

"Well, don't worry. You're okay now." Liam mumbles, before grabbing the television remote and flipping on the Telly.

Louis' eyes widened and he jumped, up from the couch and running behind it.

"W-What is that?" Louis asks and Liam raises an eyebrow.

"A television?" He answers, questioningly.

"It's s-scary." Louis whispers, his ears flat against his head. The Top Gear episode that was playing was loud and the engines of the cars driving in it were not calming at all.

Liam shuts off the telly and looks at Louis with curious eyes.

"You don't know a lot of things, do you?"

"I-I spent most of my time in a d-dark room. A man used to come in and teach me things l-like math and writing."

"You've never watched the telly?" Liam asks and Louis shakes his head quickly, slowly emerging from behind the couch. Liam thinks for a moment before smiling.

"Let me show you some things. I just want to know how much you know. Okay?" Louis nods hesitantly and Liam takes him around the house asking if he knows something in the flat.

Louis shakes his head at most things and Liam stops to explain it to him. Everything is overwhelming and confusing but Louis loves it. He's never seen such things like a refrigerator or a working shower.

He was bubbly and giggly by the end of it, happy that he learned about so many things and happy that Liam was trustworthy.

It was a little bit past four in the afternoon when they had finished looking through the flat and Louis was too hyper.

Liam had tried to calm him down but the boy was jumping and running around the flat in socks that slid across the wood floor.

Liam didn't mind. He liked this side of Louis. He was open and his light laughter was contagious.

When it was nearing six, Liam ushered him to take a bath and Louis asked an odd question.

"What is this?" Louis asks holding up a razor. Liam takes it from him and explains its used to shave hair and is very sharp and he shouldn't play with it.

"I want to shave my hair." He says and looks down at his legs. Liam raises his eyebrows, wanting to tell him that it was odd for a boy to shave his legs but he stays quiet.

Instead the man sighs, smiling and telling him he'll help him with whatever he needs. Louis was ecstatic.

They spent almost an hour in the bathroom, Liam helping Louis shave his legs and the boy was laughing the entire time.

When they came out of the bathroom, Louis was wearing a button up shirt that belonged to Harry and a pair of sweats and fuzzy socks.

Louis skipped into the living room just as the door opened and Harry walked in.

The small boy squealed and jumped into Harry's arms. The older man smiled and hugged him back, before setting him on his feet.

"Liam is very very very nice. He showed me all the things I didn't know. Did you know refrigerators keep your food cool? I didn't like the blenders. They are loud." Harry chuckled and nodded before thanking Liam. The man only nods before saying his goodbyes.

In a minute the two were left alone. It was quiet until Harry spoke up.

"How do you feel about going shopping for some clothes of your very own?"
