DARBY POV
We were all silent all the way back to Mr. and Mrs. Byrd's house. After an hour of driving we finally made it to their house around 2 in the afternoon. There were a lot of cars at their house. I cheered up at the thought of seeing my parents. I have missed them so much! One big reason I am happy get to see them now, is that tomorrow is.... drumroll please!...... MY BIRTHDAY!!!! I will be a teenager and I will get to be with my parents when that happens, and not in some old rundown hotel with evil kidnappers in it.
Once the car stops, we throw off our seatbelt and Sarah and I run to the house. I grab the door knob as we run. Thinking it was unlocked, I never stopped running to unlock it. So Sarah and I are running full speed to the door. I turn the door knob while still running, which was locked, and run into the door. I hear a loud,'CRACK!' and feel blood dripping from my nose. My whole face starts to hurt. Hurt bad. And Sarah, who was right behind me, runs into me while my face is still smushed to the door.
I scream in pain as Sarah falls on her back. She cries out in pain. As she falls, her foot twists under her, twisting her ankle. " OWWWWWWWW!!" we both say at the same time.I collapse next to her, blood falling from my nose. It must be broken.
I sit up. I look at her ankle and I gasp. Her whole foot and ankle was purple and was very swollen. Sarah winces in pain. By this time, Markos has gotten out of his car and rushed over to us. He bangs on the door. Talyn's parents come out and gasp.
