It was always the same after that day. We lived in a small town so people were always the same except for the new students who attended our school, Rockville High. They would try to be friendly towards me but after hearing the story, they fled as if I had rabies or something. It hurt but I was used to it. I hated school with a passion. Don't get me wrong, I love reading and all, but school was a nightmare. Always being shoved into lockers or having things poured on me was not fun. I spent all my free periods in the library where I found solace. I had some pretty weird nicknames such as nerd, loner, smurf. I got the last nickname when my hair and clothes got stained blue. Someone thought it would be funny to pour a bucket full of quick dry blue paint on me. I tried getting the paint off but it wouldn't. Teachers gave me sympathetic looks but none of them said anything. The highlight of the day was when my apple was switched. I bit into an onion and my eyes watered. Everyone laughed at me. Some even took videos and posted them for the world to see. I ran from the cafetaria but I was tripped even before I managed to get away. I fell and bruised my elbow. This only increased their laughter. I dusted myself off and went to the bathroom where I locked myself inside a stall. I then proceeded to look at myself from the screen of my iPhone. I looked hideous. My hair was stained blue. I willed myself not to cry saying they were not worth a single drop of my tears but it was in vain. The tears started falling one by one. Soon enough, I was full out sobbing. After about half an hour, I unlocked the door. Luckily, I was alone. I got a spare top from my bag and put it on then proceeded to wash my face, scrubbing as hard as I could. The paint came off but I was still left with a blue hue on my skin. My hair was another matter altogether. Sighing, I put on the beanie I always carried around in my bag. My eyes were still puffy but it was better. I could always say I left my glasses at home. Getting out of the bathroom, I decided to attend the remaining classes seeing as I had already missed one period. I almost made it to class when principal Griffin called my name. I was already in trouble so I slowly made my way to him waiting for my punishment.
