Night is Calling
There are times,
When the night beckons sweetly,
Coaxing me into it's depths,
(Where goodness knows lurks)
The night is evil,
(So they say)
Tis the time of witches they say,
And faeries and goblins; they say.
And there are times
(Too many to count)
Where I am drawn,
Into its ocean of stars.
And there are times,
When my music is loud
(So very, very loud)
To drown out the night's pleas.
And the night is a dark place,
But I fear my mind is darker
(Pitch black, indeed)
So sometimes I succumb.
And the night captures me,
Trapped in its infinite web
(A web of glinting stars it is)
And I question my chances of return.
