Once Upon A Girl

You were once a girl,

With eyes like small diamonds,

And hair like golden silk,

Your mouth a small pink button.

You were kind, brave and true,

Clever and witty too,

Performing that intricate dance,

Of pleasing everyone but you.

Once you were happy,

Spinning gaily in the sun,

The future was bright,

Even brighter than you.

Could you be that girl again?

Even after all this time and pain,

Could you once again be brave?

Have nothing to lose, just everything to gain?

As we have been told many times,

History never repeats itself,

We can't produce a perfect copy -

And nothing ever happens twice.
