"Lana!"
"Lana, wake up!"
"Lana!"
I don't know what the fuck just happened but my head hurt like a motherfucker. It was like it got run over by a sixteen wheeler truck a hundred times. I gripped something and clenched my teeth together, not having the will to open my eyes yet. An inhuman sound escaped my mouth, almost a faint whimper lost amongst my heavy breathing.
"Lana!"
I recognized the voice. Tommy. Tommy? I struggled to comprehend why I was in so much pain and was hearing his voice in my head. Then another metaphorical sixteen wheeler ran into my head, filling it with colliding thoughts and memories. My eyes shot open and I took in a sharp breath as a stab of pain shot through my head.
"Tommy?" I whispered. My vision was a mix of dark shadows and a faint light in the distance, an outline of a person hovered over me. But despite no visual confirmation, I knew it was him.
"Lana!" he exclaimed. "Oh, thank god."
"Tommy," I attempted to push myself off the asphalt ground strewn with broken glass once my vision cleared a bit and his arm instantly went around my shoulders and supported me so I was slightly leaning against his chest. I looked up to his face illuminated by the faint streetlight, casting menacing shadows over his bloodied face. I craned my head to the wreckage and the overturned cars.
"Tommy, where's your mom?!" I half yelled in alarm, sitting straighter and contemplating if I should stand.
"Easy there," he pulled me into him and I could feel the worry radiate off him in waves. "I teleported her to the hospital. Which is where we should be going too." He started to hold his hands out to touch me and himself for the teleport but I stopped him.
"Wait," I breathed and moved my numb legs under me to push me up. "We can't go there. Not the hospital."
"Are you crazy?! Why not?" He asked, standing along with me. "You're bleeding out into the pavement. Where else can we get you help?"
I looked down and found an alarming amount of blood in a puddle where my head used to be. I frowned and pursed my lips, lifting a hand to touch the back of my head. I winced as soon as my fingers made contact.
"Shit," I muttered, seeing as my hand was covered in blood. "My house." I spoke faintly, leaning into Tommy for support.
"What?"
"My house." I repeated. "We can't show up in the hospital like this, it's a gamble. We'll patch ourselves up there and go to the hospital for her as soon as we're done."
Tommy bit his busted lip and nodded, reaching his hand out. As soon as he made contact with me, the foreign feeling washed over and the setting shifted, turning into my neighborhood. We appeared right outside my house. Right then, my legs gave out on me and Tommy had to lift me up and carry me the rest of the way to the doorstep. Despite the pain, I pounded my fists on the door and in a second it swung open to reveal my parents, they looked like they were waiting just behind the door.
"Kiernan!" My mother cried out at the sight of me. With tears in her eyes she ushered Tommy and I into the house. Dad led the way to the study which was converted into an emergency room for times like these.
"Kiernan?" Tommy managed to smirk at me as we followed dad.
The corners of my lips lifted up slightly to give him a pained smile. "You're not the only one with an alias, Tommy."
He set me down into a steel medical table that was partly covered in white cloth and I winced even at the gentle pressure applied by the weight of my head. Tommy sat in the corner with mom who was attending to his own injuries. Dad ordered me to turn my head slightly so he could inspect the wound.
