Chapter 7

My eyes fluttered open, and I looked ahead, seeing my room lit with the light of the morning sun.

When I sat up a huge pain bolted through my head and I groaned and lay back down on the bed.

I heard Carissa call me downstairs, so I dragged myself out of bed, not bothering to change out of my pajamas.

I stumbled into the kitchen, where Carissa, happy as always, was making my usual hangover remedy, Belgian waffles with a sports drink and a couple of aspirins. I ate my breakfast and plopped down on the couch, turning to the on demand channels to watch some movies.

"No Uni today?" She asked.

"Nope. You know the routine."

I found a good movie and lay down with a duvet I had dragged down with me from my room. After 5 hours of napping and movie watching, I texted Harry.

Two hours later, and no response. I called him and got no answer. Eventually I gave up and went back to sleep.

I never got a response that day.

I was sure it was because he knew I had a lot of baggage that he didn't want to deal with, so he moved on to a new girl.

I mean... That's what all of the others did...

Sometimes I wonder if I'll ever find a Prince Charming. But knowing my luck, I'm not going to ever find one.

Carissa came home from her work at Teavanna down the street to find me crying on the couch at 12 am.

"Oh dear! What's wrong, love?" She asked lovingly.

"I'm never going to find anyone. They all leave me. Even Harry won't even respond. He probably hates me after last night." I sobbed.

"Now you should know that boy loves you. More than a friend at that. I can see it in his eyes. When you two are together it's like a magnetic energy is in the air. He loves you. He's probably busy," she said.

"Knowing my luck that's a lie," I muttered.

"Dawn.... Did you take your medicine?" She asked me quietly.

"I don't need it," I told her.

"In the state you're in right now, I would have to say that's obviously a lie."

"I'M FINE OKAY," I cried.

She hugged me tight, and buried my face in her soft sweater, sobbing quietly.

She quietly got up and got me some chamomile tea and my... Pill. That stupid white and green capsule full of false happiness.

I'd been taking antidepressants for a while now... And I guess you could say they work. But I feel fake and drugged... I hate it.

I reluctantly took the pill and drank the tea. She hugged me once more, and as soon as she pulled away, my phone buzzed.

"Sorry I didn't answer I'm at work:( I'll make it up to you tomorrow. You'll see:)x

-Harry"
