NANCY'S POV:

"Finally!" I said-screeched as we rolled into Christown. Christown was were our university was located. It was a lovely morning with the faint humming of the engine accompanied by quiet chirping of the birds. The nature part of Christown was my favourite. It reminded me of the sweet morning walks I used to take with my parents when I was a child back home in Springdale. I'd skip in between them and tell them stories of the previous day at school and they would patiently listen and comment once I was done talking. When I grew up Dad told me that the days I did not ask for icecream, Mom would buy me one. 'You will get only those things that you don't demand,' she used to say.

The drive to our apartment was quick once we entered Christown. I had been driving and I couldn't wait to get out of the car and stretch my legs. We had stopped only once after we left the motel and my entire body was complaining and demanded rest.

We quickly found our apartment and I parked the car. It was on the 6th floor of a building named Vista Place. I parked the car in the designated spot for flat number 6-4B and got out of the car. I had no idea as to where Daniel was gonna stay but it better be some distance from here. He had been extremely sweet, I admit, but I wouldn't like him as my BFF.

"This place looks nice, " Emma commented as we took our bags and walked towards the main lobby on the ground floor.

"Mah choice," Daniel said proudly.

His choice? Strange. Why should he choose our apartment? Anyway, as long as it is good, why bother with the little facts here and there?

"Good job, " I said as we walked into the elevator.

Each floor had two apartments on either side of the elevator. The one on the left was closer to the elevator door and the one on the right was further down the hall. They didn't face each other which was a relief. That way we wouldn't have to keep it shut at all times out of worry that any random person could have a good peek inside from the opposite apartment.

We walked down the hall towards the apartment on the right and I knocked on the door. A lady in her mid forties opened the door.

"Daniel Finn?" She asked looking from my face to Emma's.

"That's me, " Daniel said raising his hand and making his way to the front just opposite her. What was happening?

"Ah. Well hello my dears, please come in, " the lady said with a warm smile.

Daniel walked in first and I followed eagerly. I was really excited about living alone with friends and I wanted to have a quick look around.

I had researched the apartment on the internet and everything about it was true. It was absolutely new, with the smell of new wooden furniture confirming the fact.

It was a rather large apartment. There were two comfortable looking sofas facing each other and three colourful bean bags carelessly placed around a centre table just as we stepped in through the main door. There was a television set with a DVD player behind a sofa. There was a small kitchenette to the right with a breakfast table. The rooms were at the behind the sofa sets, two next to each other on the right wall and one next to the bathroom on the opposite wall. Great, we have an extra room for friends to come over, I thought.

"I am Mrs. Nett and this will be your apartment. I live on the 5th floor in flat 5-2A so if you need to get anything repaired please inform me and I will see what I can do. Now, I know that you all are grown up and that this apartment will be your living quarters, but please try to keep it presentable, okay? Come I'll show you around. "

We walked around the place with Mrs Nett pointing out every little detail. Daniel and Emma had bored looks on their faces but I felt sorry for Mrs Nett since all her attempts at getting us interested in the superior quality of the bathroom faucet were failing. I tried to fake interest just to give her moral support but it back fired on me. She got enthusiastic and decided on specifying every feature of the fridge, air conditioner, microwave etc.
