"Honey, is everything packed?" The voice of my mother reached my ears from downstairs. "Yes mum!"
Our family's moving to London, my dad got a good job package there and my brother got admitted in a university. I am in a dilemma, 'to be or not to be'. I was never the popular type at school you see, I never had a crowd of people around me during lunch table neither did I have guys drooling over me. Never had a boyfriend either. I'm just an average person I guess.
"Take one last look around, see if you forgot anything." "Mum I've checked my room like a million times, I haven't left anything" I replied rather annoyed. "I'm sorry hun, it's just that we're going to a new country and starting a new life." Before I could reply my cell began to ring, I ran across the room to attend the call before it ended. I checked the caller id. It was a call from Jenny, my best friend. Well, to be perfectly honest, my only friend. I accepted the call, "Sophieeee!!!! Girl, why aren't you attending your phone?" Jenny very nearly screamed into the reciever. "God Jenny, stop screaming you're ripping my eardrums. Sorry I was helping my mother in the final packing and stuff." I replied "Oh ohk sorry. I'm going to miss you though. I mean who will annoy me with their singing during math class, who will do my homework and most importantly who will bear my fangirling." She said her restrained voice thick with emotion. Jenny is a huge One Direction fan, she's always stalking those poor boys and getting excited at everything they do, I don't know why? I mean they are just normal teenage boys.
"True that, I'm going to miss you so much Jens you can't even imagine." "Awww" Jenny started crying. I could hear her sniff through the phone "Don't cry babe, we will talk okay? I have to go now, take care honey. Bye" I said a bit sadly. "Yea you to bye, oh and don't forget to make a twitter account and also text me your new number. yea that's it, bye enjoy the airplane ride" How typical of Jenny "Yes, I won't forget bye" and with that I hung up.
I put my cell inside my purse, sighing I took a last look around the house, feeling all the memories rushing through so fast that it got blurry. I'm going to miss my room. Oh well. I shut the door and went downstairs.
"So finally you're here, we all have been waiting for ages." Said Tammi, my annoying sister, who's 3 years elder. She annoyed the living day lights out of me. I just gave her a glare before walking past her, all my tries on trying to trip her, but in vain.
"Let's go before they start fighting here." My brother Nathan said with a chuckle. I shot him a glare which he returned with a smile.
"Okay every one out, there's a cab waiting downstairs." We all picked up our suitcases there wasn't much to carry actually, we didn't have that much things in our house. My brother kept his suitcase in the van and came back to help me pick up mine. After 10 minutes we finally loaded the stuff in and sat inside. Though the ride to Southport was 45 minutes from here, we reached early, considering we lived in a small town far from New York.
I put in my earphones and started listening to music; it wasn't long when sleep took over me.
"Soph, honey, wake up." My mum said, shaking me. "Sophie, come on baby we're going to be late. You can sleep in plane." I opened my eyes and felt blind, thanks to the blazing Sun.
I took my bag and stepped out of the car.
Woah! This airport is huge, which could easily be an understatement. This was the first time I had been to an airport. I had never traveled and to be honest, moneys tight and there's not much money in hand.
"Stop drooling and come inside, it gets better every second passing." Nathan said with a grin. I walked inside of the airport, over-flowing with people. To my surprise, Nathan was right it did get better.
I heard a chuckle and turned around to see a boy who looked around 16-17 laughing at me, I don't know why, but I turned a deep shade of red.
We checked in the passport control, showed our passports, tickets and all the other things. We saw some empty seats in the business class lounge and sat there, yes business class, I don't know how my father got business class tickets.
Taking out the phone, I captured some pictures. I am proud I captured pretty good pictures. After a few minutes announcement ran clear as a bell that our flight was to board.
We all stood up took our bags and followed the crowd of people till we reached a desk where we showed our tickets and went inside a tunnel. On the entrance of the plane we were greeted by an airhostess, "Hello, welcome to British Airways hope you enjoy your journey." She said with a smile, I returned the smile, not wanting to appear rude. I went inside and man, that place's huge or what, my parents interior their hands carries in the cabin. I searched for my seat. Hmmm nowhere is row H....Ahha! Found it, I happily sat down in the seat when Nathan came and sat down besides me.
Did I mention that this was my first time in plane? I probably did, well anyways, like everyone I was more than excited, taking out my camera and snapping pictures of the clouds.
Oh wow, my camera doesn't know how to capture nicely, the pictures looked nothing like the original scenery so I put my camera down and started chewing a gum. So that my ears won't get jammed, people say eating chewing gum helps.
Well it didn't, I had to grab two small pillows for each seat and put them tightly around my ears to ease the pain. I glanced at Nathan beside me who was apparently having the same problems.
At first I was really excited but with each second passing I felt less and less excited until I felt quite bored. Gladly, I didn't let my parent's keep my small handbag in cabin. I took out a book and started to read.
Time passed swiftly without realizing. I woke up from a deep slumber to find myself holding the book upside down on the same page; I apparently hadn't even read a single word. This just plain tells how much I value my sleep.
"Two hours to go" said the computer display on my front. Wow, two whole hours and to think I was looking forward to sitting in the plane.
Only I know how I passed those two ours that were worse than hell. Nathan slept throughout so he had no problem. I envied him for that.
At last after a frightful landing the plane rested. This is cool, I thought. London, here I am!
