Days past. Water ran out. Anger, desperation and loss of hope was building. Thomas and I lead the pack but it was useless. They wouldn't walk any faster, and I knew that they couldn't. Thomas made sure to walk right beside me and even with his long lean legs, he struggled to keep up. It was actually kind of funny.

"Hannah, we need to talk." Thomas' voice was raspy without any water.

"So talk." I replied.

"I heard what you said last night, to Minho." He said.

"And?" I shrugged.

"And, are you still sure you wanna stay with us? I mean what if I do lead them into a trap or to their deaths or-" Thomas rambled.

"Okay stop." I interrupted, holding my hand out to him. "I can't turn back even if I wanted to. And they love you Thomas...they follow you because they trust you. They only reason they're following me is because you are, so don't have doubts. You're the only one who shows hope here so you need to gather some balls and keep it up."

Thomas nodded. "Okay, you're right."

"I'm always right." I shrugged and we walked the rest of the way in silence.

Nighttime came quickly and by the looks of the mountains, it looked like we had not gotten any closer. We didn't set up a fire that night so I sat close to Thomas. I kept watch again, having another sleepless night, but I didn't care. It started to take a toll but I didn't let it show. The others needed a break, specially Thomas.

A little closer to sunset Thomas started to wake as the wind picked up. I looked up at the clouds and quickly started to pack my stuff back up.

"Thomas, wake everybody up, we need to go now!" I exclaimed, urgently.

"Why, what's happening?" He asked, getting up.

"Listen, ever since the Scorch took over the world, storms got worse. Natural disasters became a little less natural and by the looks of those clouds, we'll be dead if we don't leave right now!" I explained quickly.

That was enough for Thomas. He started to wake everyone as I packed the stuff.

"Lights...I see lights." Thomas mumbled.

"We made it." Minho breathed.

A sudden crack made us all jump and turn to look in the direction we came. Nobody saw what it was but I knew. Another lightning bolt slapped the ground with a sickening crack and everyone mumbled in fear. The clouds got closer as I pulled Frypan to his feet.

"Run!" I yelled. "Everybody run!"

Nobody hesitated. I stayed at the back of the group, making sure everyone was running for their life, because if they weren't, they might as well be standing still with a metal rod attached to their heads.

My legs moved faster once I knew everyone was well on their way, and soon I caught up with Minho. He slipped his hand into mine and pulled me faster. The lights that Thomas mentioned turned out to be a compound and as it got closer, the clouds got faster. They were right overhead as we reached the ruins of the warehouse.

"Stay clear of the cars and cans!" I yelled.

If they got too close, it was over. Minho pulled me faster as we ran closer and closer. I caught a glimpse of a metal box just on our left and Minho and I were heading right to it.

"Minho, NO!" I tried to pull him away but I wasn't quick enough.

A flash of light and a brute force sent me off my feet and Minho's hand slipped away from mine. I landed hard on my side, smacking my head off the ground and a ringing in both ears erupted. That's all I heard. Ringing. My eyesight was blurry and it hurt to move. Someone ran up to me and tugged me to my feet.
