I push even harder and dust puffs around Jacinta and I. I furrow my eyebrows, confusion written all over my expression. I jump when I feel a hand on my shoulder and I look behind me to Harry.
"Listen.." He addressed the group, looking defeated, "We have to go. Find somewhere safer than being out here alone." Niall nods his head and Jacinta just sighs shakily.
"I'm not leaving without Louis." She shakes her head and I look at her.
"There's no way in. We can't get him." Niall grips his gun and looks to the wall.
"Then I'm not leaving." Jacinta says stubbornly. I ignore the conversation as Niall sounds like he's losing his mind.
"I think there's something underneath this." I state, pushing on the floor again and Jacinta pulls a piece of cement away from it and helps me. I look back at Harry once again. I'm about to ask for help but a loud sound distracts me and I snap my head back to the ground and see the growing split in the middle of the ground.
"Tiarn, be careful!" I hear Harry yell as the floor beneath us starts to jolt and fall. Before it can collapse and swallow us whole, I feel my arm being pulled harshly and Harry uses all his weight to pull me from the crumbling floor and I land on top of him. I hear my heart beating rapidly in my chest and I turn my head to the now gaping hole in the floor.
"Jacinta!"I yell loudly but all I can hear is pieces of rock falling, "JACIN–" Harry puts his hand over my mouth and I look to him with panic in my eyes. He removes his hand and puts a finger over his lips, signalling for me to be quiet.
"They'll hear you." Harry whispers in my ear and I nod my head, still feeling anxiety and adrenaline course through me. I look at the full green in Harry's eyes and he brushes a thumb over my forehead, "What do we do?" For once, Harry is asking me. For once, the leader doesn't know what to do. He's lost. The truth is neither do I. I'm just going with my instinct. And my instinct is to go all Alice in this bitch follow Jacinta down that rabbit hole. I look to Niall who watches on, expectantly waiting for my orders. I stand up, feeling pain shoot through my arm but I ignore it.
"We're saving our best friend." I state simply. I look down at the hole and see darkness below but I'm not afraid. There's a chance I can save Jacinta and I'm going to take it. She would do the same for me in less than a heartbeat. I sit down on a piece of steady rock. I exhale and let myself fall into the darkness. I gasp at the feeling of free falling but shortly that's gone as I land on the rough ground. I see light coming from somewhere near by but I ignore it. I need to find Jacinta first. I get up in a mess of coughing up the dust that surrounds me. My eyes get used to the change in lighting and all I can see when I look around is boxes, file cabinets, and a hallway where the white light is coming from. I could be dead and not even know it. A voice makes me jump and I feel my heart speed up. I roll my eyes and sigh in relief.
"Tiarn! We're coming down! Quickly!" Harry whispers, almost yelling and I step back seconds before Niall comes down and Harry after him, missing Niall with his foot just centimetres away. I hear growling and footsteps from above, the zombies must be walking around and surrounding the fence. It's completely silent until I hear loud groaning coming from behind me. I go stiff and feel Niall move me next to Harry who aims his gun behind me and I can't control myself when I bury my head in Harrys chest in fear. He runs one hand through my hair as the other points the gun.
"It's okay, baby." He whispers with his lips brushing against my forehead along with a bit of stubble as he kisses me, "We're okay now."
"Pass me your torch Harry." Niall whispers to Harry who lets go of me but keeps me close to him as he unclips the torch from his belt and hands it to Niall. I follow the circle of light across the ground as Harry and I follow Nialls small and short footsteps. Then I see her. Jacinta's on her side, pale dust covering her tan skin as she furrows her eyebrows and tries to cover her eyes. I rush up to her and Harry follows behind me as I kneel next to her.
"Jacinta," I whisper and her eyes roll as she tries to open them and that's when I see the left part of her forehead covered in blood, I turn to Niall, "She might be concussed."
"Y–You might be concushed.." I hear Jacinta mumble and I look at her with a slight smile on my face as I try not to giggle, "Where's LouLou?" She mutters and I shake my head at her priorities.
"He's sleeping so we have to be very quiet." I say and Jacinta nods. I hear a tear from beside me and I look to Harry who appears to be ripping the bottom of his shirt. Niall points the light near her face as Harry wipes Jacintas bloody forehead. She winces and opens her eyes normally.
"Someone's on my leg." She groans and Niall points the light at it when Harrys done with cleaning Jacintas blood as much as he can. The light shows no sign on anyone being on her leg, but it does show something else. My chest sinks at the sight of large rock debris from the fall on her right leg.
"Don't worry about it." I say to Jacinta with my eyes slightly clouded with tears, "You're going to be okay." Even though I'm not sure of it. The rock looks heavy and there's a trail of blood making a trail from it but I put on a brave face. She's going to be okay. She has to be. "Help me." I say to Niall and Harry as I start to push the rock from her leg as she yelps and we stop abruptly.
"Jacinta, Louis' asleep and we can't wake him. You need to be quiet." Niall says, running his hand through her hair and she calms down and nods absentmindedly.
