The sun begins to set as we cross through many different patches of trees, enteringKakariko. Branches are munching under my feet, some making their way into theworn, bloodstained white slippers that remain on my feet. I take off the rightslipper, stopping to clear out fallen leaves that stab at the bottom of my feet. Linkand Dark stop to wait for me, leaning against the two trees lining the entry way toKakariko Village.(Kakariko looks different in this story, but only slightly, promise.)
The leaf flutters out and I nod towards the two boys, then put on my shoe and thethree of us walk in together. Small cottages lined streets, trees still littered throughsmall pathways cleared in between the small houses. The Inn was built somewherearound the middle of this small village, if I remembered correctly. Link took the leadand began leading both me and Dark towards a large building."This should be a good enough place to stay for tonight." I watched Link walk in,both Dark and I following. The lobby was wasn't super large, a small area where we check in, a decent sizedwaiting area, and the entrance ways towards the rooms this place contained. Iwalked off and looked down some of the corridors that ran through the building.
Two rooms per hallway, six hallways. Off in a dark corner I could barely see Two piercingred eyes, staring at me."Okay guys, we were only able to get two rooms. Looks like- whoa where's Dark?"Link stopped mid-sentence as he questioned Dark's whereabouts. I pointedtowards the corner where Dark was hiding. "If they see me they chase us out." Dark stated simply as he moved through theshadows, slowly making his way towards us without being seen.
I made a small "oooh" sound as I understood. Link cleared his throat and began tospeak again."Like I was saying, we only have two rooms so, who wants to share a room withsomeone?" I shrugged, I didn't really mind who I stayed with or if I'd be alone. Darklook at the ground, thinking, until he seemed to have had an idea."How about we draw straws, or something? Whoever has the shortest straw has toshare a room, but gets to pick which one of the other share a with them." Dark saidas began to drag me and Link outside towards a stream.
The stream had reeds growing on the edges closest to the water. Dark picked areed, both me and Link shrugged picking one ourselves. All three of us shuffled backtogether, comparing the straws. Link's was shortest."Well looks like I lost, I choose to share with..." Link trailed off as he began toactually put thought into who he wanted to share a room with.
"I'll share with Dark." Link stated, throwing his reed into the river. Dark nodded andall of us journeyed back to the inn.Once at the inn we were once again greeted by the kind smile belonging to thereceptionist. We all waved and walked to the small hallway containing our rooms. Ichose to enter the first room I saw, # 3. Leaving the boys to room 4.
I walked over, examining the small bedroom. It had hardwood floors, wooden walls,a small window near the corner the bed lay. The bed consisted of a fluffy blackblanket, white pillows with white cases, and white comforter sheets. A door wasplaced slightly to the left of the bed, I'm guessing it's a bathroom, and then there's asmall lime green couch resting in forgotten corner, collecting dust."This rooms adorable.." I said as I walked off, preparing for bed.
