Chapter 7

Mackenzie's POV

3:48 am 5th day in California

I wake up hearing a knock on my door. I slowly get out of bed and open the door. Jessicas' in the door way, dark circles under her eyes implying she hasn't gotten much sleep.

"They're fighting again." She says sighing. I grab her wrist and pull her into my room.

"I'm so so sorry, I wouldn't have let you come here if I knew they were going to be like this." I say rubbing my eyes.

"Mac it's fine, I'm not going to leave. You need the support, and I would miss my best friend." She says smiling and hugging me. We break apart when we hear glass break downstairs followed by yelling. We both sigh. I climb back into my bed.

"Can I sleep in here? It's quieter." She says low.

"Yeah sure." I scoot over and let her slide in. I look up at the ceiling and watch the fan spin. I slowly close my eyes. Then I open them. I turn over and see Luke. The light shining through the window. I see Luke's eyes slowly open, he smiles and leans in to kiss me.

"Morning." He says in that sexy morning voice. Suddenly I hear a cry. "I"ll get it this time, you just relax."

"Um okay." I say confused. What was that cry. What does he mean 'I'll get it this time' I slowly get up out of bed and walk into the room across the hall. In the room I see Luke cradling a tiny baby girl.

"We missed you Mac."

"Mac, Mac Mac!" I open my eyes and and sit up. I see Jess sitting in format of me. A worried expression on her face. "Are you okay?" She says staring at me.

"Yeah I fine. Just had a weird dream I guess." I say getting up and going to the bathroom.

"Okay, hey Louis' downstairs." She smirks.

"Are you serious!?" I say grabbing my toothbrush. "Who let him in?!"

"I did." She says smirking.

"Fuck you Jess." I say bluntly.

"Love you too. Don't keep him waiting." I don't see her face but I can totally tell there's an evil smile.

I walk downstairs and Louis' sitting on the couch.

"Um hi." I say awkwardly.

"Nice MLP shirt." He laughs and I turn red. "Hey do you wanna go to the beach today?" Is he asking me out?! No he can't be asking me out. What do I say? Think.

"I can't swim." I smile awkwardly and he just stands there.

"What are you talking about Mac?" Ugh what the fuck Jessica. "You used to be on coast guard swimming." I can hear that evil smile in her voice again.

"Psst yeah I forgot." I say kicking Jess in the shin as she lets out a tiny cry.

"Okay, so do you?" He asks again.

"Yeah sure." I say giving up.

"Okay I'll pick you up at seven." He smiles walking out the first door.

"He totally likes you." Jessica says stepping in front of me.

"Ugh leave Jess" I say pushing past her to go get lunch.
