The training started when they where 8 weeks old and they all appeared to get everything I was training them to do. I later find out this is not the case. However I did realize the two females with their noses down more than the males which kind of alerted me and was one of the first signs the males where not getting their training. The first stage in their training is to learn to walk at my heal in case we cone to a road or something of that sort so they don't get hurt. The second step is to introduce them to birds in a controlled environment so that they are not afraid of the birds fluttering their wings I do this for about two weeks before I start doing any other training. Then I start getting the working on the dogs pointing form however this take the dogs complete trust and cooperation. If the dog freaks out when a bird is held in front of its face then introduce the dog to birds for at least one more week. Then I start training the dogs to rush they have to be able to do this flawlessly before they get to go to the field for the first time
