"I like this one" Katherine mused from where she sat on the bench. Emma frowned at her reflection, looking down at the pink, puffy dress that hung awkwardly on her hips.

"Are you kidding Katherine? This looks awful. I can't wear this on my d-" Emma paused, shaking her head. "I can't wear this" she decided, unzipping it.

"You were going to say date, weren't you?" Katherine smiled, standing up as she helped unzip the dress. Emma sighed, rolling her eyes.

"If I tell you something, will you promise not to tease me?" Emma asked, Katherine nodding with wide eyes. "Okay, well it is a date. Dylan asked me on a date" Emma admitted, hanging the dress back up on its hanger. Katherine squealed, clapping her hands excitedly.

"Oh my gosh! I knew it! Aw you guys are going to be so cute! Even though I've never seen him, met him, you know, I barely know anything about him" Katherine pursed her lips with a distasteful look.

"Well he's really handsome" Emma smiled to herself. "Very attractive" she muttered, Katherine chuckling.

"I have to meet him. I really do. My best friend is finally getting her groove on" Katherine wiggled her eyebrows, Emma's cheeks growing hot.

"I said no teasing!" Emma whined, lightly shoving her friend. "Now c'mon, hand me the next dress please" Emma asked, Katherine gleaming as she handed her it. Emma put it on, holding up her hair as Katherine zippered it up. They both went quiet, a gasp escaping Katherine.

It was a navy blue dress with long sleeves. It had a waist that met the bottom of her ribs. It showed her perfect skin through the skinny v neck that dropped to the bottom of her ribs as well. It had a collar that stuck up, a beautiful dark blue embroidered trim around the v neck and sleeves. "It's gorgeous. You look gorgeous" Katherine breathed.

"I love it" Emma smiled down at the dress, knowing that this was the one. She let her dirty blonde hair down, watching as it met her shoulders.

"You look like a fricken' godess" Katherine grinned, forcing Emma to spin around. "This is the one. You have to wear this with those black heels that we got last February vacation" Katherine commented and Emma was suddenly struck by her friendship. She had never seen how much it really meant to her until this moment. Katherine was her best friend, and had been for about a year now.

"Yeah, yeah you're right. This is the one" Emma smiled at herself as Katherine unzipped the dress. She glanced at the price tag, wincing slightly. "Yikes. A little over budget" Emma commented, pulling on her army green jeans and black sweater.

"I know. That's why I'm buying it for you" Katherine told her as she put the dress back on the hanger. Emma straightened up, turning to her friend with wide eyes.

"What? No you're not. Katherine, I can't let you buy that for me" Emma argued, her mother raising her to never accept gifts that generous. Katherine shook her head, pulling out her wallet.

"Listen girly, this is your Christmas present, okay?" Katherine told her, Emma shaking her head again.

"Katherine that's too nice. I'll never be able to meet your gift giving standards" Emma chuckled. Katherine rolled her eyes, flipping her curly brown hair over her shoulder.

"Look, its not about the money okay? You earn your money by working hard. My dad is never around so he throws money at me as if it will make me love him. At least let me spend some of it on something important" Katherine argued, a confused expression taking over Emma's face. "I see how much you like this guy. It's pretty damn obvious. I know this night means a lot for you and I want it to go well. So please, let me do this for you" Katherine pleaded, Emma sighing in defeat.
