Normani POV
Lauren sent me out to go search for decorations and I called Jilly up to see if she wanted to come help.
I met her at this decorating shop I was in, and she came to me with opened arms. "Haven't seen you in a minute," She announced, throwing her hair over her shoulder. "How've you been?"
"I've been super busy with Lauren," I stated, smiling sadly thinking about Lauren's situation. "She's getting better though." I smiled.
"That's good!" She said cheerfully. "You haven't been in the studio the past couple of days, I'm guessing that's why."
I nodded my head. "She really needs someone here for her right now, she's going through a lot, but I see a change." I told her. Lauren has seemed like she was changing. Well at least from what I've seen.
She's much happier and she laughs a lot. Her laugh is very cute.
Whenever I'm around I try my best to stay positive with her. I don't know what she's capable of doing, so I just make sure she's happy at all times. Her happiness is important to so many people and I want her to see that.
"Hey, Jilly?"
"What's up?"
"How do you tell if someone has feelings for you or not?" I asked genuinely, playing with my fingers.
"Well you can't really," she shrugged.
"What do you mean?"
"It's difficult because most people try not to show it, when deep inside they really like you." She stated, looking at the bamboo sticks. "But if they show things that they like you, you should just give it a shot, you never know how things might turn out."
"I mean I want to tell her–" I paused and my eyes widened.
Jilly turned around with a smirk and her brow arched. "Who is this her, you're talking about?" She asked.
"Nobody, no one, it's not important." I said waving my hand dismissively.
"Cmon mani, you can't just think I'm not going to ask you after that." She said, nudging me slightly.
"No, I'm not telling you." I clarified, shaking my head. "You aren't getting an answer out of me. I just need advice from you and that's all."
"How can I give you advice if I don't know who it is?" She questioned.
"Simple, you just did it." I gave a fake smile, and walked passed her and over to the side of the store. "Anyways, do you think Lauren will like this?" I asked, picking up a plant.
"It's not necessary party related," she mentioned.
"It's just for decoration of her place." I asserted. "Just answer the question."
"Yeah, I like it."
"Then we're buying it."
"You changed the subject." She mentioned, noticing how I did change the subject. "Who is this girl? Have you even dated a girl before?"
"No, to be honest," I said turning and looking at her while we were at the register. "And I don't, I never thought I would, but there's something about her." I said, thinking about Lauren.
There was something about her that I liked from the start. People's perception on her is completely not true. Most people see her as this badass girl who doesn't give a shit about what she does, or she's ignorant, but none of it's true.
She's the complete opposite.
