I can't belive Wendy took Kate's advise to dress differently yesterday. "Why did you listen to her Wen?" I ask wendy while we walk to the lunch room
"she just tried to help me Meg" says wendy all sad and innocent looking. " oh yeah? then why did see her laughing? " I ask. "I don't know meg , maybe she was just trying to play along so Emily wouldn't find out about our friendship"
why does Wendy trust Kate so much ? Kate was always mean like Emily. when we were seven I invited Kate to my birthday party and she accidentally on purpose spilled fruit punch on my dress then she helped Emily steal all my friends away by telling them I was disgusting and kept dead rotting fish in my bag. At this point I could also accuse her for the spoiled life I'm having. How could my first best friend after five years like my worst enemy's best friend ?
Suddenly a boy in a grey hoodie taps me on my shoulder and sits next to me. yeah... its Jeff. "hey Jeff" I say completely forgetting the aurguement I was having with Wendy. " why do you look so dull?" asks Jeff. "Nothing at all" I say. Wendy's eyes widen as she sees Jeff talking to me. " I gotta go Meg , have so work to do " says Wendy and I know its an excuse to leave but I have no idea why.
"So.... about our project, today at my place right ?"I ask smiling at Jeff. " yeah and why did Wendy go away? Is it because of me" he asks looking a little concerned. "I don't know, I don't think it's about you....... I think maybe she has an appointment with Kate so took the opportunity to leave" I said. " you don't like Kate do you?" He asks. How did he know? "Sure I like kate, why would you ever think that ?"I ask
"Oh Meg.... did you forget the mall incident? And the sneaking out?" He says laughing. "What do you know about Kate anyway?"
I prove my point. "I know a lot...... " He says still smiling.
"You have history with kate?" I suddenly raise my voice. "Calm down Meg" he says." Oh!! What do you mean?" I say slightly worried.
"Just forget it, it's not important!" Jeff says."but....but....." I start
"where's meh bro Connor? " Jeff changes the topic. Wait. Did he say 'bro'? I didn't know connor and Jeff were this close. I could have just asked connor about Jeff at all the time Jeff confused me. He is definitely hiding something from me.
I tell Jeff that I have to find Wendy. I walk into the girls loo and I see Wendy." Where you just talking to Jeffrey Kingston ?" Asks Wendy.
" yeah, whats the matter? He used eat lunch with me, you and connor remember? " I ask
"Yes but that was before, he's not a good person kate hates him"
When I heard Wendy say kate hates him, I know Jeff is hiding something from me.
" you shouldn't hang out much with that guy" she says
What does she mean? I shouldn't hang out with Jeff just because Kate hates him somehow........NO WAY!!! But I calm myself down and answer gently.
" but Wen he is my assignment partner, I can't change it. I have to be around him"
"Don't tell kate though" says Wendy. "Oh look it's carrot girl again!" We hear a cold voice behind us say. Yes......it's Emily and Kate. "your back to your dork style again? " says Emily looking at Wendy from head to toe." Where did you copy this from? Dork magazine? "She says smiling. What? That wasn't even smart.
"Acctually, you have to thank me.....if I hadn't warned you about how hideous you looked, someone else might have bullied you!" She says laughing coldly. "Wendy let's go!" I say pulling Wendy's hand but she won't move. Kate stood next to Emily smiling coldly.
"I'm sorry....." says Wendy. Her face turned red and she burst into tears and kept repeating 'sorry'. "You look like a tomato now but good for you! The tomato face matches the carrot hair perfectly" Emily said with an evil grin. I glared at Emily and Kate with anger. "What are you looking at? " asks Kate crossing her hands.
'just at your stupid face' I said inside my head. I glared at Emily and put my arm over Wendy's shoulder and said "don't cry okay", Wendy started to cry out loud and I waited no more "YOU'RE such a FAKE!!! I don't understand how you can be so mean and cruel to other people! Sorry, but no one's perfect. Not even you, Emily. So can just SHUT UP!!" I screamed.
Wendy looked at me wide eyed and kate put her hand over her mouth in disbelief. Even Emily looks stunned. No one has ever spoken to Emily like that. According to our school Emily was a goddess. "NO.......YOU DID NOT........THIS IS WAR, GET READY TO FACE THE CONSEQUENCES DORK FACE!!!!!" said Emily and stormed off the girl's loo with Kate following her. I stared at the door as Kate and Emily leave. I cannot believe what I just did. Wendy started to cry out loud and said" I'm so......sor..ry". I tried to speak but no words came out. I've just messed with the princess.
