Hello, all! I am now officially going to start writing this book, and I'm really excited to see what you'll think of it!
Just as a pre-warning: because of school and sports I'm probably going to be writing a lot of short chapters, but I will try to post every other day.

Maya's POV
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
I quickly sat up in bed and turned off my alarm. Today is the last day of 11th grade, and I set my alarm early so I could look cute on the last day.
I had had my outfit, hair, and makeup planned for the last week. My plan was to wake up early, eat breakfast, then shower and curl my hair.
Some people may think it's weird to dress up on the last day of school, but Lily (my best friend) and I had been doing it every year since the end of the year 6th grade.
I went downstairs to the kitchen and put some bread in the toaster, then got out a frying pan and turned on the stove. As I was walking towards the fridge, my little sister walked in wearing her princess outfit for her last day of school.
My sister, Elizabeth (but we call her Lizzy) is 8 years old. She was wearing a white dress with a pink sash and brown sandals. She had a brush in one hand and a hair tie in the other. I almost always do her hair in the morning, it's just a way that we bond.
I opened the door to the fridge and grabbed out 2 eggs, shredded cheese, milk, butter and strawberry jelly. I set all the stuff on the counter and began making my eggs. "Come on May-May I want a french braid today for my last day of school!" she said.
So after I braided her hair, I made breakfast which consisted of jelly toast and scrambled eggs. Then we sat down to eat. "Are you excited for summer Lizzy?" I asked. Her mouth was full of eggs, so she just shook her head up and down really fast. This was going to be her first year going to Jr. High Camp at Camp Downey.
Camp Downey was founded about 30 years ago by a woman named Elizabeth Downey, and Lizzy was super jazzed about having the same name as her. The camp lasted the first four weeks of summer, and I was going to be working for the first 2.
After I got dressed and did my hair and makeup, I drove to school in my old, new (I just got it a week ago) Toyota Camry.
I couldn't wait to see what this summer had in store for me.

As I said most of these chapters are going to be short, but I hope that won't very much of a problem.
