Chapter 1: The Swarm

"Hey Kenny what do you think about this dress." Ken looked over at Mia who was wearing a dark blue dress short in the front but longer in the back. Ken stood up and kissed Mia. "Mia you look beautiful." " Thanks Kenny I have to be prepared we only get one senior prom do you have your tux." "Yeah it's in the closet." "We are totally gonna be king and queen we are the coolest in the school I mean your the basketball star and I'm the captain of the cheerleaders we have this in the bag." " Yeah I guess I mean I could care less about that as long as we have fun." "Yea but it would be nice." Ken laid back down on his bed  while Mia changed back into her blue shorts and white tank top. Ken thought about how he just graduated and this prom would be his last high school event. The day after prom would be special too it was his eighteenth birthday. Mia sat on Ken's bed next to him and asked. "Kenny what do you want for your birthday it is on Sunday and I want to get you something special." "You just need to be their Mia come on let's go to my Dads place and see Callie." Ken teleported him and Mia  to Yandrax's castle and walked in and were greeted by Yandrax. "Hello Ken,Mia how are you." "We're good dad where's Callie." "She's up in her room." "Ok how's Dave has he been here since I beat Zanos." "No speaking of how's the mark." Ken looked up at his taped hand. "It burns sometimes but other than that it's fine. So what's Dave been doing." "He's just been showing off his powers." "Ok we're going to see Callie we can train later ok Dad." Ken and Mia walked up to Callie's room. Ken stepped in the room and knocked on the open door. "Hey Call whatcha doin." "Ken your here why didn't you tell me you were coming." "I wanted to surprise you so what are you doing." "Just watching tv but can I train with you today please please please." " I'm okay with that but you have to ask dad about it." Callie sprinted out of the room and down to Yandrax and begged to train with Ken and Mia and Yandrax said yes. They gathered in the training room and they would spar Ken against Mia and Callie Yandrax signaled to start and Callie shot the first blast Ken dodged as Mia jumped in the air and shot a lightning bolt at Ken. Ken cut it in half and sent a blast back at her that she dodged. Callie shot more blasts at Ken but he deflected them with his sword and caught Callie with the black chains. "You gotta try harder than that Call." Just as he finished his sentence Mia shot a lightning bolt at his back and Ken blocked it with his right hand and pushed his own black lightning back at her and Callie broke the chains and shot a beam at him and Ken meeting that with his black lighting using about ten percent of his power hit the girls knocking them to the floor. "Your getting better keep training." Said Yandrax. It was the next day and Ken and Mia were sharing their King and Queens dance at prom then went back to Ken's house and hung out in his room. The next day was a lot of preparation for Ken's party in which all of his friends along with Callie were in attendance. Ken and a couple of his friends were in his driveway playing basketball when suddenly an explosion happened in the back yard Ken ran to his back yard to see a man standing there with a sword wearing a mask standing in the middle of the yard. Ken ran right next to Mia and Callie in a protective stance. "Give me the girl named Mia and no one gets hurt." The guests ran away and the only people left were Ken Mia and Callie. "If you want her your gonna have to go through me." "That can be arranged." The man drew his sword and Ken summoned his the two ran at each other both slashing and parrying each other's attacks the two seemed evenly matched then the mysterious man flipped back and stood there. Seven figures emerged from the forest all with scythes they all attacked Ken. Ken went straight into shadow reaper mode sensing the great power of all the men. Ken was quickly pierced by two scythes and tagged both men. The rest hitting him with shadow blasts Ken collapsed to the ground as the mysterious man and the seven men walked away. Callie kneeled down next to Ken checking on him. With the last of his strength he said. "Who are you." The man responded with. "I am the necromancer Edge and these are the previous shadow reapers we are known as the swarm." After that word Edge walked into the woods with Mia on his shoulder. Ken blacked out and woke up the next day in his bed Callie sleeping on the chair across the room shivering. Ken's AC was on high as usual so Ken got up and put Callie on his bed under his blanket and went to make breakfast for them. Ken's wounds seemed to heal and thought about Mia Edge and the seven shadow reapers he would have to defeat to get Mia back. Ken made chocolate chip pancakes and bacon. After about another half hour Callie walked down stairs and sat down next to Ken at the table. "Ken are you okay." "Yea Call I'm fine there's food on the counter if you want some." Callie grabbed some food and they sat and ate. After they ate Ken washed the dishes then him and Callie went to their dads castle to talk about a rescue plan for Mia.
