Zak was turning to a hotel I wasn't familiar, I was about to questionwhat he was doing but decided not to.
"I think we should stay maybe a few more nights? I really want to explore around and besides the investigation was too short." Zak said.
"Sure but this time lets go to a better hotel." Nick said smiling.
"Yeah I think that will be awesome!" Said Aaron.
"Um guys..." They all turned at me. "I don't have enough money to stay for a few more nights."
"That's okay I'll pay for you." Zak said with a grin.
"No you don't have-"
"I already said I will, and I will do it." I looked at him like he was insane, but I guess he meant him. Something about him made me feel...different.
We headed towards the hotel, and we all went to our rooms. As I was going to close the door someone's hand pushed it open. It was Zak. Surprised I looked at him with questioning eyes.
"Is there something you need?" I said.
"Um no...I just was wondering how you were feeling. Do you need someone to talk to?" He asked. It took me a while to respond I didn't know if I wanted to talk to anyone right now. Something about that investigation changed me.
"Yes, I would like to talk..." I said. I welcomed him to my room and went at the balcony. Beautiful sky, and and buildings lighting up. Perfect view.
"Something about that investigation changed me. And I always wanted to talk to a spirit. I don't know why I have always been curious. You know when something happens to you and you just can't do anything about it and you feel terrible about doing nothing?"
"Yes." He said quietly.
"That's how I feel." He looked at me a little content, and I looked at him with my eyes full of tears.
"I'm sorry..." I said covering my eyes with my hands as tears streamed down my face.
"No you're okay....sometimes when we have lockdowns like that I feel a little hopeless." He touched my back, and I hesitated his move but I knew he just wanted to comfort me.
"You know what? Lets go do something with the guys! Don't worry about money, I'll pay for you!" He said excitedly. I smiled at him, I liked his comfort. And him.
