Chapter 7

Thomas fully closed the door to the makeshift infirmary and looked at the three other hunters. David and Sarah looked uneasy but, Naiki was just standing there looking back at Thomas. Thomas sighed. "Naiki and David, can you go check out the perimeter?" David and Naiki nodded, "sure." They walked off after they had said that.Thomas looked at Sarah. "What do you need me to do?" She asked. She wanted to get her mind off of James for the moment somehow, even though it seemed impossible after what he had said. "I need you to stick with me, I'm going to check on cheezit." As Thomas said that, Sarah smiled. "Sure. " Thomas started to walk and Sarah walked beside him. "So, how are you?" Thomas asked. "I'm good. How about you?" She replied. He looked at her "I've had to torture Cps, watch my friends fight, and meet yet another psycho. So, i think I'm doing great." He smiled a genuine smile and she smiled back. Thomas stopped infront of the door into cheezit's cell and sighed before looking at Sarah. "Before we go in here, can I confess something to you?" She looked at him when he asked that. "Sure." She answered. He breathed in deeply before starting his sentence "what i want to confess is... That i like you. Like, alot. I would've said earlier but, there's just been the Cps and-" Thomas was interrupted by Sarah kissing him. He blushed, surprised, but didn't stop kissing her.they continued to kiss as he walked over to the empty room beside dr. Cheezit's cell and opened it, pulling Sarah into the room with him.

David walked with Naiki around the perimeter, making sure to look if there were any intruders nearby. He couldn't see anyone so, they kept walking. "Hey uhhh, Naiki was it?" David asked, he was never good with names. "Yea, that's my name." David smiled, atleast he remembered one name. "So, Naiki, why did you join our little hunting group?" David wondered why he had joined, David still remembered when he first came to the building where their hq was stationed. Thomas had walked in with Naiki and introduced him to everyone, that day David could remember because he had almost seen Thomas naked. Almost. Naiki looked at David and stopped "my father wanted me to join. He said it was my destiny to be with you guys, though I think he just had some big plans for me." David smiles and looks at Naiki "my dad has some pretty high hopes for me too. He wanted me to be a heart surgeon." Naiki chuckled "pretty far from heart surgery aren't ya?" David laughed at what Naiki had said. "Well, i guess the only person that kinda lived up to my father's high hopes was my sister. She's a real medic." He smiles again from remembering old memories. "Really? Cool. Well, I'm going to go check over there near the old cabin. Why don't you go check near the lake?" Naiki suggested. David shrugged, "sure." They split up and each searched their areas separately. David started to reach the end of his searching when he started to hear footsteps behind him. David stopped moving but, as he stopped so did the footsteps. David slowly turned around but, saw nothing. David turned back around but, not before a shovel hit the back of his head. He collapsed onto the floor and fell into a deep Black Sea of unconsciousness. A voice said "one down, two to go. Don't worry father, I'll make you proud. I promise."
