To Turn Heads.

To say he turned heads was an understatement.

This boy was gorgeous.

His only fault was that he was shy.

My group of friends and I watched from afar. They had some classes with him, so they grew closer.

Jimin became infatuated. He needed to know more. I noticed he kept looking at me, but when we made eye contact, he'd turn away.

Hoseok developed feelings, which annoyed me. All he did was talk out the perfection I already knew he was.

Hoseok was his friend before mine, but he sits with us frequently due to him and Jimin being close.

Truthfully, I love reading. The perfect, beautiful princess always falls for the rugged and handsome prince. Never the ruffian. I've seen this scene play out in real life too.

Those books bore me, but I always finish them. I need to know how they end.

Once, he walked by me in the hallway.

We locked eyes and he looked away.

I grabbed his shoulder, stopping him. Leaning into his ear, I whispered words that I had hoped caught his attention.

"Your face looks better from the front, rather than the side."

With a small smirk, I pat his shoulder and continued down the hallway. When I glanced behind me, he was still standing there. His hand on his shoulder.

Dork.

My flirty exchanges and his awkward reactions continued for a month.

Hoseok sat with us at lunch in the park near the school.

"I went to Jungkook's last night~!"

All of us were unamused, except myself.

"Oh? Where abouts is it?"

"Not too far from the school. You know that grungy, run down looking convience store?"

"The one on the west side of town? With the cat?"

Just then, Namjoon spoke up.

"Is that the one run by the guy who sells smokes to anyone?"

Hoseok jumped up.

"Yeah! That one exactly! He lives a few streets over from there. Maple, I think?"

Jin pulled the lollipop from is mouth with a loud popping noise.

"Nah, you're thinking Oak."

Hoseok snapped his fingers and pointed at Jin, nodding.

"That's the one."

I nodded softly to myself, taking note.

I used to go to that store a lot to buy smokes. The owner was super cool and gave me free stuff sometimes. He was an old man and even though I look rough, sometimes I'd help out.

For weeks I hung around that store. I started smoking more than before, if only to pass the time.

Two weeks had gone by. It was around 2:30 in the morning when a dog started barking. It woke me up from my spot in my car.

Falling asleep was not part of the plan.

I looked out and saw a familiar figure.

I waited for him to go inside before I soon followed suit.

He was standing in the ramen isle, probably having a hard time picking a flavor.

He grabbed a few different kinds and headed towards the "feminine hygine" isle.
