Madison's POV
I was sitting at a table by myself in Chemistry when someone sat down in front of me. No one ever sat with me. I looked up to meet the eyes of Carlos De Vil.
Bold= Carlos
Italics= Madison

Is it okay if I sit here?

Yeah it's fine. I'm just not used to people sitting with me.

Why not?

I'm just not what people call popular so people don't normally sit with me.

Oh. Well I'll sit with you from now on.

You don't have to if you don't want to.
I could feel heat rising to my face and I knew I was blushing.

I do want to.

Alright.

I looked up at him and smiled shyly. He returned it with his own awkward smile. We talked throughout class and got to know each other. I also managed to become good friends with Evie too. When class ended we walked to lunch together. Carlos walked and sat with his friends and I looked around for Ben. I didn't have a lot of friends. I spent most of my time with Ben but now he spent most of his time with Audrey. I would never admit it to him but I felt incredibly alone without Ben to talk to. I didn't see Ben anywhere. I sighed and picked up two bright red apples. I was once again eating my lunch in my room by myself. I was one of the few people that didn't have a roommate. I sighed and sat down at my desk taking a bite out of my apple. I pulled out my homework and started on it. They didn't give us a lot of homework and I finished it pretty quickly. I will admit I was pretty smart so the homework wasn't very hard for me. I had finished one apple and thrown away the core of the apple and took a bite of the second one. There was nothing left for me to do and it was only 2:00 pm. I decided to go and watch the Tourney team practice. I remembered Ben saying he was going to help Carlos learn to play Tourney. I sat in the bleachers and pulled out my notebook. I loved writing. I pushed my glasses up on my face and continued to write. Everything was going fine until...
Madison Watch out! I heard Ben's voice.
I looked up just in time to see a tourney ball hurling towards me.
Then...Smack!
It slammed straight into my head. And the next thing I know I'm laying on the ground looking up at the sky.
I sat up feeling pain shoot through my head.
Are you okay?
I looked up to see Ben looking at me in concern. The only problem with that was that I could see three of him.
Ask me again when I can only see one of you. I said.
He looked even more worried now.
The 2 coaches and some of the other players were now standing behind Ben.
How many fingers am I holding up? He asked.
I blinked a couple times.
Three. I said.
One. He said.
Alright. Carlos, take Madison to Fairy Godmother. She should be able to heal that cut on Madison's head. The rest of you get back to the field. Coach Andrews said.
Ben shot me one more concerned look and told me to be careful before running back onto the field.
Are you okay? Carlos asked helping me up.
Um..not exactly. I said stumbling slightly when I tried to walk forward.
I felt an arm wrap around my waist pulling me towards him to keep me from falling. I felt a weird tingly feeling in the pit of my stomach. He wrapped my other arm around his neck and we began walking back to the school.
Thanks. I said.
No problem. He said.
When we got to Fairy Godmother's office I was feeling really dizzy. I raised my hand to my head and when I pulled it back I noticed the blood on my hand.
Oh crap. My head is bleeding.
Suddenly everything started spinning. Carlos. I said.
Carlos stopped. What's wrong? He asked.
Seeing that I was about to fall he moved forward quickly his arms wrapping around my waist to keep me from falling. He was taller than me so I rested my forehead against his chest and waited for the spinning to stop.
Are you okay? He asked.
Yeah. I said. Just waiting on everything to stop spinning.
When I finally raised my head back up my eyes locked with Carlos's. He was staring down at me in concern.
Are you feeling better? He asked.
Yeah. I said.
He moved away from me but kept kind of close just in case I fell again. We got into Fairy Godmother's office and explained what had happened. She healed the cut on my head and sent us on our way. Carlos walked me back to my room just to make sure I was okay.
What's that? Carlos asked pointing to an old book on my desk.
It's a book of fairytales for bedtime stories. I said.
I've never really read a bedtime story before. He said.
Well... You'll have to come by one day and I'll read you one. I said smiling at him.
He smiled back at me.
I'll be sure to remember that. He said. See you tomorrow Madison.
See you tomorrow. I said as he walked out the door closing it behind him.
I walked over and locked the door. I took a shower, changed into my pajamas, and climbed into my bed.
I couldn't stop thinking about Carlos. How worried he had looked when I got hit, how he had wrapped his arms around my waist to keep me from falling, and how he had walked me back to my room to make sure that I was okay, and that weird, warm, tingly feeling I got whenever he touched me. That was when it hit me....
I have a crush on Carlos De Vil.
