My head feels weird. Where am I? I feel something soft on my hand. I open my eyes to find my hand covered with brown hair.

"AAAhhhhhhhh! What is that on my hand?"

I then realize that it was Emma sleeping on my arm. Thank god no one saw that, otherwise ...

"Hahahahahhahahahaah!"

I said that pretty early. Emma woke up due to the unnecessary and extensive laughing of Summer. I decided to do something that I always wanted to do when I got up in a hospital. Something everyone wants to say in his or her life.

"Where am I? Who am I?"

"What! Oh Liam! What have I done to you?"

She started crying even before I could start laughing.

"Liam stop messing with her. You should know by now that she takes things literally."

"He doesn't remember who we are Summer. It's all my ..."

I take her hand in mine

"Hey, I was just kidding. Besides, I don't forget things so easily."

"You scared me Liam, don't do that again. I'm so happy you are fine. You fell on your head due to me and were out cold for 4 hours, the doctors said you had a concussion due to the heavy impact."

"Well now I am fine. What time is it?"

"It's 9 o'clock. Don't get up yet it will take some time to heal, plus you could take the day off tomorrow. I'll inform the teachers. I guess you're not coming then too?" She asked Emma.

"I won't leave until he goes from here."

"Alright then. See you guys tomorrow afternoon."

She came near me and kissed on the forehead and left. It was awkward as hell, but it was a sign of affection and love, I guess at that point I thought that it was something that a sister would do , because she went and did the same to Emma.

"She's really nice don't you think?" I asked Emma after Summer left.

"She's the best. Before you, she was my only friend. She kept me together even though it should have been me to do so."

"Why so?"

"She hasn't told you yet? Well, Summer lost her parents in an accident when she and I were 10 years old. She even lost her little sister. They were coming back from her sisters Parent Teacher meeting, when a truck in front of them went haywire. Even through this, she stayed strong. She went to live with her uncle's family. They loved her a lot and took good care of her. But, no one can take the place of your parents. You can come close to be a parent, but never will you actually replace them with your love. Are you ok Liam?"

A shock went through my body, I felt Goosebumps. It was weird, but how? How can she be so ...

"Yeah I am alright, just shocked to hear what she's been through."

"She's a fantastic person. She helped me throughout my life, probably because she sees me as her little sister."

What are the odds? How could she have gone through the same things as

"Wow I already respected her, but now she holds a special place in my heart."

"What? You love her?"

"What gave you that idea? Stop twisting my words. Besides I haven't loved or for that matter dated anyone in my entire life."

"I made a promise to myself and someone else that I have to get into this college, and after that I'll travel on uncharted territories."

"Oh I see! We'll there's a first time for everything."

"I don't love her, I like her as a friend and as a person."

"So, what are the qualities that you want to see in your future wife?"

"Nothing really, just the fact that she loves me and I love her."

"So?"

"So?"

"Nothing I'll ask you later."

"By the way you're still holding my hand."

She blushed, but still kept her hand there. I was laughing inside. She seems like a nice and loving girl. She's so simple and so open about her feelings. Maybe, I am falling for her. We'll see what happens if I actually do. But on the other hand, I was thinking what to do about Summer. And how she had a past that reminded me of someone close to me.
