Prologue ~ I Barely Get a Goodbye Kiss and I'm Gone...?!

I hear my parents yelling, loudly arguing with each other and I groan. Do they even know I'm here? I absolutely hated when they were this way. The argument never even went anywhere apart from making them more infuriated with eachother. My eyes blink open and I stare up at my clear white deiling boardering the pink walls, my emerald green eyes penetrating the ceiling. I sigh as I hear them still arguing. But, not worrying about much, I turn to my side and read my alarm clock. 6:58 AM. So annoying.

I get up slowly and trudge to my bathroom. Looking at the mirror, I grimace at the sight of my hair, which was tangly and fuzzy. Grabbing my brush, I pulled at my hair until it looked decent. I smille and quietly thank Mom and Dad for giving me the coolest hair. My beautiful auburn hair was straight and cut in layers, the tips a lush dark brown. Getting my Dad's hazel eyes rather than my Mom's cerulean blue eyes made me consider myself lucky. After all, I did not exactly want to be the planet's colors, orange, blue, and black.

I hear a knock at the door and I silently wonder who it is. But with nobody to expect, I shrug, careless about who was at the door, whoever it was. I walk back to my room, more upbeat and hyper than I was before, now fully awake. I wear my uniform, ready to go where I went everyday, the School of the Gifted Powers. It was actually a really cute uniform, with a dark navy blue jacket, a white shirt underneath, and a navy blue plaid skirt. Along with the brown clogs and knee-high socks. I hear a thud and a lot of rustling, and I blink in surprise. 'What in the world?' I think when my Dad crashes through my bedroom door. Again, I blink, completely stunned by what he was doing in my room - especially before knocking. It was a morning for goodness sake!

"Come on Ara, hurry!" My father yells, grabbing my favorite stuffed unicorn and rummaging through my closet, pulling out outfit after outfit. What the hell-

"Whats going on?! Dad?!" My mother also bursts through the door, following suit. They say nothing and continue to put my now wrinked things in anything that I could carry. If I did not know better, I would think that they want me to run away from my own home. Of course, I do know better and knew that Mom and Dad would never do such a thing. Or would they?

"WHY WONT YOU TELL ME! I DESERVE TO KNOW!" I scream.

"Your Uncle Bert is coming after us - you specifically - and we must get you to safety first," Mom said not pausing even for a little bit to look at in my direction. What did she mean? Uncle Bert was sent to prison, I knew. So it made no sense if he was planning to come after me or Mom and Dad.

"He's still in prison, right?" I ask, a sickening feeling entering my stomach. I knew there that he wasn't.

"It was a trick - he was pretending all along. He wants you dead, Ara and your mother and I won't allow such a thing to ever happen. Never ". I realise he says this with pure determination. He meant it. Dad walks up to my mirror and put his right palm on it. Instantly after he does so, my kelpie bowl breaks, water splashing everywhere and eventually heading toward Dad's palm.

"Elsie! Simone!" I shriek, searching for the tiny creatures everywhere. Mom hands me a plastic tupperware and inside is Elsie and Simone, my pet kelpies. I'd had them for years. Glancing at Dad, I see that he has opened a portal using water.

"Come quickly, Ara," Dad says, montioning with his left hand to come closer. Mom pushes me forward, putting bags in my hand and wrapping some all around me. Do they seriously think that I will just go quietly and put them in danger? No way. Not Arabella Whitney. Not me. I wasn't going without a hard fight.

"If it's about Uncle Bert, I can help! Father, please I don't want to leave," I say, my mouth barely forming the words that so desperately wanted to come out. I want to stay. Hot tears pour down my pale face and fall from my eyes. Dad and Mom both hug me very tightly.

"You're going to rule our planet Eghasa when you turn the age of eighteen. Therefore, the purpose of this is for you to stay alive. It's extremely important to our planet as well. You should know that by now, Ara."

"We are so thankful to give birth to such a gifted child and we will always love you, in this lifetime and the next. You're special, Ara. We love you, honey, we'll miss you," Mom whispers encouragingly. But the tears falling down her face shows how much she wishes she did not have to do this.

"Daddy. Mommy." I whimper, hoping with all my heart that it is only a dream.

"Goodbye, Arabella. Live strong. Now, GO! Don't look back! Love you sweet, " Dad yells, pushing me as I walk through the portal, clutching my bags desperately in my hands.
