"Hey."

Napalingon si Alyssa at tumigil sa pagbabasa nang pumasok sa kwarto nya ang kuya Alvin nya. He sat on her bed, facing her. She faked a smile. "Hey."

"You okay?"

Tumango si Alyssa. "I think so."

"Next week na pala finals nyo. Magaral nang mabuti."

"That's what I'm doing, big brother." Ngumiti si Alvin at tinitigan ang kapatid.

"I know mom and dad wants to say but alam mo naman ang sitwasyon ng pamilya natin ngayon. Magulo. Malabo. Puro problema. And I'm sorry dahil pati ikaw sobrang apektado."

"Ok lang kuya, ikaw din naman. Tama din naman na unahan natin yung mga mas importanteng bagay. I'm fine, don't worry."

"Good girl." They smiled at each other before Alvin stood up and went to the door. At bago sya tuluyang lumabas ay nilingon nya si Alyssa na nakatingin pa rin sa kanya. "I know you like him."

"Who?"

"That guy."

"Who's 'that guy'?"

"The very first one who crossed your mind when I said 'that guy'."

Natawa si Alyssa at napailing. "And how did you know?"

"Di lang kayong mga babae ang may super instinct." Saka ngumiti si Alvin. "Don't worry, I think he can wait for you."

Pagalis ni Alvin ay malalim na bumuntong hininga si Alyssa. Saka sya bumalik sa pagbabasa. Matapos ang trenta minutos ay nagpahinga na muna sya't humiga. Saktong nakaharap sya sa nakabukas na bintana at napansin ang bilog na buwan. Napangiti sya sa ganda nito.

Maya-maya'y biglang nag-ring ang cellphone nya. Nagdalawang isip pa syang sagutin iyon mang makita nya kung sino ang tumatawag. Pero sinagot din nya ito.

"Hello?"

"Alyssa? Hey, can I talk to for a moment?"

"Fred-"

"Sandali lang. I just need to tell you something. It won't take forever."

"Alfred, are you drunk?" napansin ni Alyssa. Mahinang natawa ang binata sa kabilang linya.

"No. Please, I just need to talk to you."

"Ano bang sasabi-"

"I'm here in front of your house."

"What?"

Paglabas ng gate ni Alyssa'y nadatnan nyang nakaupo si Alfred sa may gitna ng daan yakap ang mga nakatuping binti. Namumula ito at mukhang nakainom. Dali itong tumayo at lumapit sa kanya. "Alyssa."

"You're drunk."

"I'm completely fine."

"Fred, anong oras na-"

"Just listen to me!" napatigil si Alyssa. "You don't need to talk, I just want you to listen. Gusto ko lang ilabas lahat nang 'to once and for all." Tumahimik si Alyssa at tinitigan ang binata. Alfred took a deep breath and began talking. His face is read and Alyssa can see his teary eyes.

"I like you. Alam kong alam mo na yun pero I'm not really sure if you're aware how much I do. I like you, so much. So much that it has became so heavy, here." Sabay turo ni Alfred sa puso nya. "At lalong nadadagdagan pag ngumingiti ka, pag tumatawa ka, pag nagagalit ka, pag malungkot ka, pag masaya ka, at kahit pag wala kang gingagawa. I do not know how it happens, but I just find myself liking you more every single moment of every day. Whenever I see you and even when I don't, all these feelings just seem to...multiply! I don't know! Nakakainis! At mas nakakainis pa ay yung while I'm being silently tortured, you don't know even know it! You have no idea what you do to me!" Pilit na pinipigilan ni Alfred ang umiyak, pati na rin si Alyssa. "You told me you like me but you don't seem to care. You keep on pretending that everything's fine and we can stay friends like what we've always been but it's not really okay! Nothing's okay because I'm already in love with
you!" diin ni Alfred. "At hindi mo alam kung pa'no kabigat 'tong nararamdaman ko. I have no idea what to do! Whenever I try to tell you, umiiwas ka. Whenever I want to ask you something, you're not letting me! What am I supposed to do? I know you have your reasons, at naiinis ako dahil hindi mo masabi sa 'kin. Naiinis ako sayo kasi you made me feel that I can be with you but you're not letting me in! You're making me feel that I can destroy the wall between us but you keep on building one! Hindi ko na alam kung ano gagawin ko sayo eh. Di kita maintindihan. And as I try to stay away and give you space, it just makes me want you more. And I love you!" Alfred took a sigh. "I love you. And even though I'll say that I hate the idea, I will still wait for you. I'll always wait for you. Because I love you. It hurts, so much. But I don't care. I can't stay mad, I can never mad at you. Never."

Napapikit saglit si Alyssa at tinitigan ulit si Alfred. "Fred." Humakbang palapit si Alfred sa kanya pero nahilo ito't di sinasadyang mapayakap sa dalaga. "Fred!" sinalo sya ni Alyssa.

Then she let him hug her. "They say other people get crazy whenever it's full moon." sambit ni Alfred. "But I'm not crazy." Saka sya humarap kay Alyssa, and he smiled at her. "Mahal lang talaga kita."

Hindi umalis sa kinatatayuan nya si Alyssa nang naglalakad na paalis si Alfred. At nang medyo nakakalayo na ito'y napapikit ulit si Alyssa at napailing.

"Fred!" He stopped walking and saw Alyssa running towards him. She paused in front of him, then she gave him a hug. "Fred."

"Alyssa."

"Promise me."

"What?"

"You'll wait."
