"Another transfer student?" I asked. Carter had just informed me that there's another transfer student. I never know why this school always lets students enroll in the middle of the school year. It has been one month since Carter enrolled here. And now, lo and behold, another transfer student arrives.
"As I've heard, he came from New York," he said as he took a sip of his juice box.
I simply nodded my head and continued eating. Lets just say, that I'm not eavesdropping, and that I, by accident, heard the girls in the bathroom talking. For some reason, it was destiny because, I was innocently peeing inside the cubicle when all those girls started talking.
"Kiyah! There'll be a transfer student next week! I accidentally bumped into him at the convenience store yesterday. He recognized my uniform, and he told me that we'll be in the same school," girl one gushed. I didn't pay attention to it. I was half listening, and half minding my own business. "What did he look like?" girl two asked. I heard some snapping sounds which I assume are from make-up cases. "He will do," girl one answered. 'Will do?'
Just what is inside these girls' minds?
I opened the door to my cubicle and washed my hands. The two girls looked at me, assuming that I heard what they were talking about. I rolled my eyes went out of the bathroom.
"Hadley, snap out of it," Carter was waving his hand in front of me. "Lunch's over," he grabbed my hand and stood me up. "Sorry," I said a quick apology.

"Please introduce yourself, Mr. Wing," Ms. Anderson gestured to the transfer student. "Hey, I'm Asher, nice to meet 'ya all. I came from New York and transferred here...and, uh, I guess that's all," I could tell that he's a carefree, easy-going guy. He wasn't at al nervous for being the transfer student.
Ms. Anderson asked him to choose a seat. He walked along the aisle, scanning the room for seats. Surprisingly, I think I saw him glare at Carter. I looked at Carter and saw him glare back. In my field of vision, there was a really high amount of tension when they were glaring at each other. Finally, Asher took the seat beside Lucy, the girl who, as she says, bumped into him at the convenience store last week. That seat was the seat in front of mine.
And so, I couldn't help but hear every single word they say. "You're the guy who I bumped into last week," Lucy pointed him. "Hm? Oh yeah, I remember," Asher looked at her face carefully. "So you weren't kidding when you told me that we're in the same school," she laughed. "Of course."
