His Golden Light

Chapter 1

~Gilgamesh~

I watched as two young children ran past me. I frowned, as they continued to run. I continued walking, as if they never existed.

My name is Gilgamesh. The Archer Class Servant for Tokiomi Tohsaka. Also known as my Master. He's such a dull and boring person.....He makes me protect his mansion all day. This day, however, I snuck out of the house. His daughter Rin Tohsaka, insisted I go. It's not like I'm the only Servant of the Tohsaka house. There's the Guardian, not to mention that annoying blue hair Lancer guy. They're both useless mongrels. Why do they always have to slack off, and I'm left with all the work?

"Gilgamesh!"

"Hm?"

I turned around to see a young lady, with blonde hair and green eyes. Her blonde hair was in a neat bun, and had a ribbon tied to it.

"Saber? What are you doing here?"

I turned around fully to look at her.

"I thought you were with Shirou today."

"He went out with Rin instead."

Saber is the strongest Servant out of all of us. Well, besides me. Her real name is Artoria Penndragon. Back in her age, she was also known as the great King of Knights, Arthur Penndragon. She faked her gender throughout history, up until she was summoned during the fourth Holy Grail War. She had two Masters, Kiristugu Emiya, and Shirou Emiya. Kiristugu gave Shirou his Command Seals, and now Saber is his Servant. The two have gotten close to each other, and soon became best friends.

"Rin huh? Those two have gotten close....."

She nodded. I looked away from her, and looked up at the sky.

"Say Saber....."

I looked back at her. She had a look of confusion on her face.

"What is it?"

I looked away again.

"Nothing....."

I suddenly felt a hand on my shoulder, as Saber turned me around. She wrapped her arms around my neck.

"You can tell me anything, Gilgamesh."

I chuckled slightly.

"I can't keep anything away from you...."

I sighed.

"Well......Do you.....Feel like something's missing?" I asked her.

"Missing?"

She frowned and pulled away.

"No I haven't....."

"I.....See.....It must be my imagination then."

I started to walk away.

"I'll see you later, Saber."

I continued to walk, not caring where I was going.

"Something's wrong....," I thought. "There's something missing, and I'm going to find out what it is."
