Hello, before you read I'd like to tell you that as of now, I'm going through and doing major editing on this, before I finish
Right now there are a lot of plot holes, and some parts are really confusing, have mistakes, so read at your own risk.
Thanks for reading, and enjoy!!!Regulated
Author's note: this story is taking place in an alternate dimension, so it will have some similarities, and is not taking place in the past, this is current time. They may also have some technology, such as guns or lights, but will not have everything, :)
As I walked the crowd broke for me, giving me a wide berth, then flowing back into the stifling, unsurpassable mass it had been. Like a rock jutting out through the water.
I navigated easily despite the ever thickening crowd, making my way out of the city, where only the regulators were permitted. That's when I felt it, a familiar presence, one that had been stalking me at the most unexpected times. Close, but never had I seen who it belonged to.
I could feel myself getting closer, I was coming toward it, not it to me. It was odd, I always happened to come across it, never the other way around, but when I did, the presence would stay with me, no matter how I winded through the streets or tried to shake it off. It unsettled me, not just because the fact that someone, maybe even lethal, was able to always find me, but also that if I was found out, I could be punished by death, for being able to somehow know that someone was tailing me, for having an unnatural sense. Me, a faithful warrior of the regulators, had been haunted by this mysterious, ghost like silhouette, for the past three weeks. It was unrelentless, a dagger in my side everywhere I was.
I kept my eyes peeled, searching the crowd as I got closer, soon enough I could feel its presence, within a five foot diameter of me.
And suddenly the crowd broke, and for the first time I saw it, or more accurately, her. She was only in my line of sight for a second, three at most, and yet it was like time stopped, I could see all her details that weren't masked by the heavy cloak she wore, even though it was quite warm today.
She had the hood pulled up, shadowing her features, but briefly the light caught her face and I was able to make out soft features, with icy gray eyes, and high cheek bones. Her hair was the color of willow bark, and hung out of the sides of her hood. She was very short, no more than five five. She wore a gray dress, clearly to somewhat imitate a maids dull cloths. But anybody with a keen eye could clearly tell she wasn't a maid or commoner for that matter. At closer inspection her dress had a tight bodice, with lace covering it, and her skirts were of a much finer material than any low ranking citizen would be able to afford. But the thing that struck me as very odd was that her hair was spilling down her shoulders in dark waves, considered inappropriate for any woman older than ten years of age. She also walked with a certain grace and authority that no woman possessed in regulated territory, with her shoulders back and straight, winding through the crowd as easily as I did, instead of having to push and shove her way through.
It was rare for a lady to have such confidence, unless she was a warrior for the regulators. Otherwise women were considered fragile and only fit for the regular house work to keep a household running.
Then she disappeared, the mob of people swallowing her up just as fast as they had spit her out
A/N: soooo? Whatcha think? I'll try to keep updating frequently, but before I put more chapters in I have to make sure that there perfect, so I'm only putting up two or three at this moment, and when I'm sure I like the other ones I'll put those up
If u like it, plz tell me, it'll be appreciated, and enjoy!
And I'm tagging my friends Brooke an Paulina for proof reading my book, :)
