Sorry about the long wait. I had this chapter completed already, so I decided to put it up :) I have no clue when i'm going to update again. I have exams in three weeks, so it probably wont be any time soon. Hopefully it wont be around six months like the last time, but I can't make any promises... Thank you to those who still read this though :)

****Picture above shows a wolf who could very well be Serena. Just imagine the growl being a lot more scary, and bright green eyes and you've got your wolf. Ryder looks exactly like her just a bit bigger.*****

Chapter 7

Serena snarls, the deep brass rumbles through the clearing. Her eyes narrow in on Ryder first, even though the too sweet scent assaulted her nose. Her first thought was always whether or not he was safe. If not that was her first choice of action. Next her eyes narrow in on Jacob, who was staring at her with caution yet welcoming.

But next, her eyes narrow in on the pale figures surrounding them. Her whole body tenses and an even louder and angrier snarl echoes about, her throat hurting slightly from the force. Her body lowers towards the ground slightly, and her ears pin back against her head. Her leg muscles tense, and she readies herself for the attack. All of this happens in less than five seconds.

Her feet leave the ground and she flies towards them, her mouth open wide and teeth bared. She twists her whole body down to the ground as a form moves in front of the targets. Her bones rattle as she hits the ground harshly, rolling slightly from the speed. But without a thought to her injuries she gets back onto her feet and turns to look at her brother, who was now standing in front of the group. Betrayal crashes down onto her.

Slowly she lowers her shields, allowing for his emotions to reach her and for hers to reach him. His guilt, sadness, content and fright wash over her. A low whine leaves her muzzle and her ears swivel around on her head, unsure of which emotion she was feeling. Her tail was lowered, not yet between her legs.

Serena? He questions, walking forward slightly. He stops at her low warning growl, tinged with a whine.

How could you? After all they have done you go running straight into their arms! Have you forgotten what they have done to us, to our family? Or do you want me to remind you since you weren't there when it happened!?Do you have no regard to anything that took place? Instead you betray me! You betray dad! And worst of all, you betray the others! Serena snarls, her heart squeezing with the pain. Every in breath was filled with a whine and every out breath with a growl. She begins to pace in front of him, her head lowered and teeth bared slightly.

You don't understand, they...

NO! YOU don't understand! Serena stops and stares straight at him, her eyes boring into ones like her own. You know everything that has happened, I have shared it with you through my eyes. Yet you befriend the ones that did it.

They aren't like them! They're nice, and they don't drink human blood. One of them had been imprinted on by a wolf! The packs and vampires work together to protect the humans! One of the vampires was even dating a human! Ryder quickly explains, his words tripping over each other. But Serena wasn't listening; her mind was clouded with anger and betrayal.

You're just like them! You don't care, you never did! You betrayed the ones who fought to protect us! You betrayed your own sister! She snarls, her legs bunching. She flies toward him, too fast for anyone's eyes to follow. Her large form knocks him to the ground, and she stands over him. Large teeth filled his view as she snarls, her large form holding his human one down. The sound of vampires shouting fill the air, but one of them holds the others back. Serena didn't care, she would get to them. A low whine escapes Ryder as her words repeat over and over again through his head.
