It's been a week since Clint and I returned from our botched mission. Director Fury still hasn't informed anyone about Sapphire or the missing information. He did call an Avengers meeting, which was what we  were all sitting in. I glanced across the table at Clint, who was spinning an arrow between his fingers like he always did when he was bored or nervous. He saw me look at him and his fingers stopped as he gave me a grim smile.
We all were silent, the atmosphere so different from weeks before. Everyone was avoiding looking at the two empty chairs at the end of the table. I was guilty of it too, we all missed Sapphire and Bruce. It was like a heavy weight, we all blamed ourselves. Tony was hit the hardest by it, he had lost both of his lab partners and was increasingly heading to the bar.
Director Fury walked in and Tony jumped. Without a word, he slid something into the center of the table. As it came to a rest, I saw that the object was a memory drive. I recognized it right away as the one I had gotten Sapphire myself, with its teal outer plastic cover and neat white writing. Under it was a folded note. I starred at it not really seeing. I knew what the note would say.
"I found this on my desk this morning with the note attached." Director Fury leaned forward on the table with his hands. "Agents Barton and Romanov were on a mission last week tho recover the information that I found on that drive but instead found a small Hydra group dead. Sapphire left that and wad kind enough to inform me that there was nothing on it about Bruce."
Hearing both of their names made the pit in my stomach feel bitter. Everyone seemed to break a bit more. I blinked hard; I had always been taught to cut my losses and not form connections with others to stay safe, but I had grow to call this team my family. At first it was just Clint who I trusted but Sapphire became the best friend and sister I had always wanted. Even Thor and Tony are like brothers, goofy ones, but loyal.
"So, what's next?" Steve had the look on his face that I often recognized when he talked about Bucky before we found him.
"What's next?" Director Fury pushed off the table and gave an uncharacteristic sigh. "What's next depends on what she does. If she attacks again or acts out of line, we will have to step in. For now, we just have to keep an eye out for her or Bruce."

Hey everyone! Sorry that I havent updated in a while, I had quite a few chapters complete but unfortunately lost most to a software malfunction so the next few will be from my memory of writing them. I'm hoping to be able to do more of that this summer without the craziness of college. Sorry this is so short but there will be more soon. Love you all and please let me know what you think!
