The Summer I Fell In Love

Chapter 3

********** Skyler's POV **********

After I talked to Trevor I had to take a shower to clear my mind. All I could think about is how he didn't stop me from walking away.

I got ready for my date I picked my outfit which was a coral dress with sequin flowers on the side, I put soft curls in my hair, and strappy white sandals and put a white flower in my hair.

I looked for my phone and finally found it I had one new message:

'Hey beautiful, I can't wait for tonight I'll pick you up at 7:00 if that's okay. Hope you feel better? -Jordin ;)

It was now 5:45 so I had some time to kill so I texted him back 'Hey I can't wait for tonight either. Thank you I feel much better. See you tonight!! -Skyler ;)

I had some time to kill so I went downstairs and grabbed a snack but I heard two people talking. "I just don't know what to do I'm completely in love with her but she doesn't see it and I don't see how!!"

Was that Trevor?

Who was he talking about?

"You just have to say something she lives here for gods sake just spit it out." Cameron said.

That makes it even more complicated who was he talking about it was either me, Kenzie, or tia.

It couldn't be tia because he and Sean are going out and I'm pretty sure it wasn't Kenzie so it had to be me!!

How could it be me before I could hear anymore I walked in. They looked at me like I had heard something but I played it cool.

"Umm hey guys what's up?" I said awkwardly.

"Hey" they both said.

"We need to talk about last night?" Trevor said.

"I can't Jordin is coming to pick me up. Maybe later?" I said apologetically.

"Oh okay sure when will you be back?" He said angrily.

"I don't know probably not long. We're just going to eat and walk downtown."

"Okay just as long as we talk." He said.

"Okay." I really wanted to talk to him right now but I didn't want to ruin my night.

A little while later there was a knock at the door Tia answered it "hey Skyler , Jordin's here."

All of a sudden I got nervous but the thing that made it worse Trevor was staring a hole right through me.

I finally got up and met Jordin outside.

"Hey beautiful" he said once I got inside.

"Hey" I said nervously.

"So we're gonna go eat and take a walk to the beach from the restaurant if that's okay?" He asked me.

"Yeah that's great!"

We soon arrived to the restaurant. It was small but supposedly had great food so I guess it should be good.

Once we were seated Jordin asked "so how are you and Trevor?"

The question shocked me but he could see I was unconfortable so he dropped it.

But I replied, "well he apologized but there's still something there but I really like you."

"Oh that's great so you really like me?" He asked flirtatiously.

"Yes but first you have to tell me a little about yourself."

"Well,my full name is Jordin James Keller, I will be nineteen at the end of the summer, I want to be a doctor, and I've lived be myself since I was fourteen because my parents died in a car accident. And I'm in love so far with this beautiful girl sitting in front of me."

"I'm so sorry." I replied saddened by his story.

"It's fine I miss them but I know they will always be with me."

"Okay I didn't mean to bring it up, sorry."

"It's fine now tell me about yourself."

"My full name is Skyler Breeze Smithfield, I want to be a teacher for mostly middle school kids, I just turned eighteen last month, I have a loving family and a great bestfriend Trevor, but you know about him already, and that's about it."

"You forgot to say you are the most beautiful girl and anyone would be lucky to have you."

I was blushing now.

We finally got back to the house and Jordin walked me to the door. I was hoping he would kiss me.

I stood there and was praying he would. We looked into each others eyes and he finally reached out and brushed my hair out of my face and kissed me.

My hands ran through his hair and it was sweet but passionate but only lasted for a minute before I pulled away and went inside.

Once inside I realized everyone was asleep except Trevor. He had waited all night so we could talk. How sweet.

I walked in and immediately he got up and was walking up to me. Man he really must need to talk to me.

"Okay can we take our walk now?" He asked impatiently.

"Yeah, sorry it's late we lost track of time."

His jaw clenched when I said we and it made me wonder why he sad acting like this.

We made our way outside and he started the conversation after a while of silence.

"Umm so I want to talk about what I said the other day when we took that walk, about that girl I was in love with."

"Oh okay well go ahead." I said nervous as to what he wanted to say.

"Well the girl I was talking about-" he stopped there once my phone rang.

"Sorry me answer this." I said embarrassed.

It was Jordin.

"Hey what's up?" I said

"Well I know it's late but I was wondering if you wanted to go with me to the carnival tomorrow on the board walk?"

"Yeah that sounds great. What time do you wanna go?"

"Well how about five thirty or six?"

"That sounds great. See you tomorrow."

"Okay. I love you."

The words stopped me 'I love you' but I had to say something and I wish I hadn't just because of who I was standing beside.

"I love you too."
