AN: The Yule Ball chapter is here, yay! The picture above is Vanessa's dress and the song is 'Wanted' by Hunter Hayes, it appears in this chapter. Anyway... I'm going to start writing now.

"There, you're done. Now go put on your dress, I can't wait to see it." I say, putting away my makeup and watching as Lani walks into the bathroom.

"Who do you think she's going with?" McKenna asks when Lani is out of sight.

"Lee." I say without hesitation.

"What makes you say that?" McKenna asks as she begins to curl her hair.

"She's liked him since 3rd year, haven't you noticed?" I ask casually, running my hands over the folds of my dress, failing to mention the fact that Lee has asked me first and I'd pointed him in her direction.

"Apparently I haven't noticed, but this should be a-" McKenna stops talking mid-sentence as Lani re-enters the room, wearing the multicoloured fruit cake dress that McKenna pointed out yesterday.

"Wow." I say, staring at my friend with wide eyes.

Suddenly, Lani bursts into fits of giggles, which is very unlike her, maybe the twins are rubbing off on her.

"Why are you laughing?" McKenna asks, thoroughly confused.

"This isn't my dress, I just thought it would be funny." Lani says, still giggling as she touches the tip of her wand to her dress, changing it into a silver sequin dress.

"What has gotten into you, Lani? Laughing, playing pranks, I thought you were supposed to be the mature one in our group." I smile.

"I don't know, but I'm sure enjoying it. Come on, let's go." Lani says, pulling McKenna and I out of our dorm.

We climb down the many flights of stairs and enter the crowded common room where Fred, George, and Lee walk over to us. Lee bows in an overly formal way and extends his arm to Lani.

"I knew it." I smile, Lani sticks her tongue out at me and walks away with Lee. George and McKenna leave together shortly after, leaving Fred and I alone.

"You look beautiful." Fred says, looking at the ground.

"Thanks." I say awkwardly.

"He wasn't talking to you." Angelina Johnson says, appearing behind me.

"Actually I was, Angelina, but you look nice too." Fred says, raising his eyebrows at Angelina who is glaring at me.

"Well this is awkward." I say, stating the obvious. "I'm going to go find my date, you two have fun."

As I walk away, I hear Angelina say something along the lines of "Can you believe her?". It's funny, really, a few days ago we were distant friends, now she hates me with a passion because she found out who my father is.

A group of first years scatter as I approach them, and I roll my eyes. Stepping out of the common room, I find Marlo waiting outside along with an assortment of other students from different houses.

"Wow, you look great." Marlo says with a tight smile.

"Thanks." I say, looking down at my blue dress. "You look nice too."

"Should we go?" Marlo asks.

"Yeah." I smile, trying to keep my mind off a certain red head.

Marlo offers me his arm, and as soon as I take it, we walk down the corridor together and down to the Great Hall which is decorated beautifully. Fairy lights have been strewn about, and the ceiling is enchanted to look like it's snowing. The house tables have been moved to the sides of the great hall, but they are still set with fragile china.
