The sun light gently floated through the soft sheer curtains making lacy patterns in the shadows and illuminating tiny dust particles floating in the air like small expectant fairies.
I stretched delicately and yawned softly, revelling in the feel of my silk sheets and lace night dress. My blue hair pooled around my head and I gently opened my matching blue eyes.
My name is Miko Hime and my life is pretty alright all things considered. I have a loving rich family and I'm usually the best at everything I do. I'm beautiful and everyone likes me. The one thing I don't have going for me is that I am never going to be a protagonist, I am destined to be a side character and that friggin pisses me OFF! I mean annoys me slightly *smile*.
I walk down the stairs greeting the house staff as I do. They have prepared a wonderful breakfast for my family and I and I eat each bite delicately. Father and I often speak of politics but this morning the conversations focus is my starting of school today. I'm quite excited since I know that I will fit in well and will probably become the queen of the school! *cough* I mean make lots of lasting friendships and create new and interesting bonds *smile*
"Bastian will drop you off and pick you up" Father explained anxiously "but if you want your daddy at any time feel free to call"
"I'll be fine father, you enjoy your business trip"
I gave father a hug and a kiss on the cheek before running up to Bastian and heading off to my first day of Nursery school.
"Are you excited for your first day miss?" Bastian asked from the front of the car, he wore a black suit and a dress shirt with dark sunglasses. He spoke in an English accent despite to my knowledge being a native of Japan.
"Very much so Bastian. I would be so delighted if I could make friends on my first day" I sounded uncertain but on the inside I was sure I would find more than a few lackeys at school, who would be able to resist my charms after all?
At school I stepped out of the limo expecting gapes of shock and mutters of admiration but instead I got a lot of drooling, snot-faced kids running around and totally ignoring me! Bastian walked me in and I tried to hide my annoyance behind a delicate smile as I glided into the establishment I would now attend.
"Well hello there!" one of the staff said to me "you must be little Miko! We've been so looking forward to meeting you"
The lady in front of me held out her hand with a big smile on her face, I took the preferred hand solemnly and curtsied, my white frilly dress clutched gently in one hand as I did so. The lady blushed slightly.
"Such a lady!" she exclaimed happily "I hope you'll fit in with the other kids, they're quite a wild bunch!"
Wild indeed! What kind of ragged urchins don't recognise that someone arriving in a limo must be a princess or a celebrity of some sort!
"I'm sure I will get on fine" I replied instead,
Soon these urchins will have discipline! I will make sure they learnt to worship the ground I walk on! I mean, soon they will understand what a sweet girl I am and we will get along fine *smile*
"You're such a trooper" the lady said with a smile before turning to Bastien "are you her father?"
The lady blushed slightly as she finally registered Bastien's handsome features.
"No madam, I am in the employ of her father" Bastien replied fluidly
The lady's blush deepened as she heard the smooth foreign accent.
