Chapter 8

We were sitting at the table eating dinner. It wasn't awkwardly quiet but it was quiet. My mom then asked me "so what's the exciting news you wanted to tell us about?" I took a sip out of my water and I put it down.

"I'm going to be the photographer for the Annual Autumn Festival." My mom looked at me surprised. My brother...well, he just looked at me. "I am very happy to hear that,dear." My mom said with a smile on her face. "Thanks mom." I said confidently.

"Who asked you to be a part of it?" She asked. I then said "My photography teacher asked me to be a part of it because he knew how much I love photography." She nodded her head. "Well," she continued,"that's great that your doing what you love."

"Yeah I know." I replied back. My mom then got up and I saw her calling my dad. As she left,I smiled at myself thinking about the opportunity I was given.

My thoughts were distracted when I got a text from Emily.

Emily

Hey,what days you working?

I sighed, knowing that I have to work tomorrow, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. I texted her back.

I'm working tomorrow, Thursday, and Friday. Why?

She replied back "Some of my friends are coming over Friday and I was thinking if you could hang out with us. after work perhaps?

I was thinking. Well my parents are going to be a business meeting and it'll end late pretty late so that would mean that my aunt would be watching by brother because I'll be getting at 11. I guess I could hang out with them.

Yeah, I can hang out with you guys. who's coming over? I texted her back.

Emily
cool. Glen, Kylie, Priscilla, Alia, and a couple of other friends.

I nodded, knowing that my aunt would come over to take care of my brother.

Yeah. I'll hang out with you guys. Tell them about the basement show!

Of course I'll tell them about the show. Can't wait until friday!
