The reports were read, and L concluded that Kira might be a student. After listening to his logic, I have decided that he is most likely correct. He is right. The times of death coincide with that of a student. Based on this logic, it is clear that, unlike some geniuses, Kira actually cares about his, (or her, for that matter, but Kira is most likely a boy,) schoolwork. If Kira didn't care, he would obviously stay up as late as he wished, possibly all night killing. Or perhaps skip school. Or do it at the school, if it's possible. That shows that he is highly organized, something that was already obvious, goal-oriented, and has a clear idea of where he wants his future to go. So, high school student. Most likely a senior.Basing this on the assumption that he is intelligent, and has a rather strong, idealistic sense of justice, he could be aspiring to be some sort of detective. Once again, basing off of his possible high level of intelligence, I would first look into a teenager who has helped the police on cases in the past. The teenager might even have connections within the police force. If that is the case, we need to watch out for somebody leaking information. Then again, he might just want to be a god.
Of course, this is just a basic profile that I have created. It is also based off of the assumption that there is only one culprit. Mainly speculation. I could be spot on, somewhat right, or completely wrong. Really, anything is possible when you don't have any evidence to go off of except for behavior.
"It is highly possible that he even aspires to be some sort of god like figure. We are dealing with someone with a very childish view of right and wrong." L stated.
Really now? I suppose a child would feel that any crime should be punished severely. A little bit later of me lost in my own thoughts and L speaking, he was finished. He told us to carry on with our report. I would share my thoughts with everyone, but I am rather interested in how long it will take him to come to the same conclusion. In fact, he probably already has and has just decided not to share it with us. He rarely shares. Greedy jerk.
Matsuda stood up. "All around the world violent crime ratings have gone down, especially here in Japan."
"Yes, we had suspected that might happen." Yagami stated, and on went other things that I didn't pay attention to. The only thing I listened to was L's request at the end of the meeting. Faces? That's right. He couldn't see L's face. He couldn't kill L. Perhaps there is a connection. Well, he isn't the best in the world for nothing.
--------------------------"You're missing the point!" People were shocked. "It does appear less obvious that Kira is a student now, but that's not the message he's trying to send. Why one every hour? And why are all these victims in prisons where they are sure to be discovered immediately? Why not other criminals like before? I believe Kira is telling us that not only can he kill from a distance, but he can also determine the time of death."
He was very right. That had never occurred to me. What occurred to me was the fact that Kira was contradicting the theory that he was a student. But, unless he is severely underestimating L, Kira knew that L would quickly discover that. Just what are you playing at, Kira?
-----------------"What's this about?" Yagami demanded.
"Our resignation notices. We demand that you assign us to another case, otherwise you can have our badges right here and now."
"Why? You're good cops?" Yagami asked.
"Isn't it obvious? It's because we value our lives, sir. If what L says is true, Kira has some god-like power that somehow allows him to kill people indirectly from anywhere."
"Well, if I were Kira sir, I'd probably want to get rid of the people trying to catch me."
"Let's face it, he knows he'll be sentenced to death if he's caught."
"We all sat here and watched when L decided to pull that media stunt and challenge Kira. While it was all very impressive at the time, but then again, L never had to show his face or reveal his name. I'm sure you recall L's last request. He asked that we take a closer look at how these criminals were revealed to the public, and specifically asked if photos were released to the public prior to their deaths. Well it turns out he was right. Every single one of those criminals name and photo was broadcasted to the public and then they died. Unlike some people we know, we're out there investigating with police ids with our names and photos on them! Anybody with a computer can find out who we are! We're out in the open!"
"Sir, the truth is we could be killed by Kira at any time."
"For these reasons, we refuse to continue working this case. Excuse us, chief." With that, the three men walked out.
Yagami stood up. "Hey! Wait! Stop right there!"
---------------Well, at this point, I am certain that L has somebody investigating the police force. He does need to find the leak. So I fortified 'Sophie Jenkin's' records last night. Sophie's parents died in a car accident when she was 16, and she is unmarried with no children. No living relatives of Sophie's remain. Sophie Jenkins should be rather easy to investigate.
It shouldn't take any time at all. And L certainly won't find anything. Let the games begin, L, Kira. Ay is joining in on your fun.
