The rain came down hard as the streaks of water flowed from the front to the back of the window. He pressed his head to feel the cold glass numb away the pain. This was one of the few times that something soothed him.
The nights and days seemed to mesh together. There was no separation between moments in time. Everything was an amalgam of shows, learning dances, memorizing manuscripts, promotions, award shows, and television appearances. There was no normalcy - that was all left in childhood. Expectation had completely taken over his life. Freedom was lost at the moment he managed to enter into fame.
The van hit a bump in the road and woke Suho up out of his daze. He slowly turned and looked over at the other members in the van to see if they were awake. Each member was fast asleep, tired from a long days work of dance practice. Suho slowly settled back into his seat glad that everyone was well rested as he heard a sudden mumble. He quickly turned to the back seat and let up on his breathing to listen closely to the sound. It was a gurgle, seemingly coming from either Baekhyun or Chanyeol.
Chanyeol wrestled around his seat trying to get comfortable. Suho watched as he squirmed in his chair. He slowly opened his eyes and saw Suho catching a glance from him.
Chanyeol grinned and murmured, "Jun-myeon."
Suho smiled and passed a small container of cantaloupe to a confused Chanyeol.
"Ah, I really did need food. I'm exhausted and starving," minced Chanyeol, "Where'd you get it?"
"Oh it was in the refrigerator in the dining area of the dance studio," replied Suho.
"Perfect. Hit the spot right where I needed it," said Chanyeol with a sly but sincere smile.
Suho slowly turned forward and let out a content half grin. These were the moments where he felt life was worth living.
The van arrived to the boy's on-the-road house, and all the band mates got out and headed inside. Baekhyun and Sehun immediately started wrestling and goofing off, as per usual. Kai went to the small make-shift sound studio they had set up recently for practice-sessions. He was practicing vocals for an upcoming solo event for an advertisement promotion. The rest of the boys were rummaging for food - starving from a hard days work. The house consisted of a main living area complete with three couches and four recliners. A big screen TV adorned the main wall, along with a full sized bay-window looking over to the fenced in side-yard. There was a large kitchen with a dining room attached and seating for ten. Two bathrooms, complete with full-span mirrors and dual showers in both. Four bedrooms with three beds spaced evenly in each room, all queen sized. A small sound-proof studio made for singing, and a back large party room made for when the boys needed to de-stress, complete with a section of hard-wood dance floor.
Suho started to gather all the necessary items to cook dinner. Chajangmyeon was on the menu for the night. Black bean paste with vegetables in rice. Suho often made dishes that were considered a hybrid of Chinese and Korean cuisine. Suho always kept in mind the members who spent a lot of time in China, as well as the only chinese member left in the house - Lay.
Suho started up the rice cooker, catching Baekhyun's attention.
"CHAJANGMYEON! YES!" exclaimed Baekhyun, "Chen, Chanyeol! Suho is making Chajangmyeon. Get in here and help!"
Chen and Chanyeol came running into the kitchen, along with Sehun peeking around the corner to see if what Baekhyun announced was true. Obviously this recipe was a favorite in the house.
