He awoke feeling empty - unsure of where he was, or if he was even awake. Mornings like these were uncommon for Suho. He peered off to his left to confirm that he wasn't dreaming. He managed to squint his eyes just enough to see the figures of his band mates sleeping respectively in each of their beds.
Suho stopped and pondered to himself, "Am I ready to process what's happening today? I'm terrified to confirm my hopes or even worse, my suspicions."
His eyes glazed over as he stared down into his blanket imagining the incoming events of the afternoon. He could normally get a read on the likely happenings of his day, but he sat in place absorbed into a black hole of nothingness. He quickly clutched his head, and jumped up.
"Eomma," he frantically gasped, "I'm coming to see you now."
Suho quickly threw on the clothes he had laying out, and ran to the kitchen to grab some sort of food to eat on his way to the hospital. He was running so fast that he nearly forgot his phone, wallet, and keys to the practice house. He backtracked for his phone, and noticed it was lit as if a text had been unread. He slowly moved his thumb toward the unlock feature of his phone, took a quick breath, and pressed it.
<Suho, I'm home and well! I stayed overnight at the hospital for minimal monitoring, though all is well now. ~Mom>
Suho closed his eyes and exhaled deeply with a slow sigh of relief. He turned to walk out of his room, before a voice caught his attention.
"She's okay... Tell me she's okay Suho," said the deep voice.
Suho turned around to see Chanyeol sitting up on his bed, elbows on his knees, with hands supporting his chin. He looked genuinely concerned.
"Chan...yeol," Suho replied with hesitation in his voice. "Yes, she's doing great. I'm going to visit her now."
Suho caught his breath and snapped back into stability. He knew he had to keep it together for the good of the group; these people were important to him. They were his family away from home. Weakness must be sacrificed for the good of his loved ones.
Suho smiled softly, and assured Chanyeol, "You know, we have a celebration tonight? All of our managers will be there, including the vice president of SM. Enjoy your day and relax before the big event."
Chanyeol looked up at Suho, and stood up to enforce his tall stature. His blanket fell off from his lap to reveal his pants still partially twisted and hanging low enough to see the muscles of his abdomens. Chanyeol took three steps forward while keeping eye contact with Suho. He slightly tensed his body, and grabbed the top of Suho's dress shirt. He winced his eyelids, forcefully pulled Suho to him, and said,
"You've done the best you could. Get it together."
Suho's eyes widened and ears slightly rose, "I...."
Suho was interrupted by a wide smile emanating from Chanyeol's face.
"Now go see your mom. She's waiting for you, probably more worried than you are for her," Chanyeol exuberantly exclaimed as he let loose of Suho's shirt.
Suho turned toward the door and limped out. He composed himself after reaching the front door; straightening his shirt collar and jacket. He took one last gasp of air to rid himself of any nerves.
"The reality of this day truly is unpredictable," he quietly whispered with a puzzled look encompassing his face.
