My hero didn’t have super powers,
Because my hero didn’t fight crime.
My hero didn’t have wings
Because my hero didn’t fly.
My hero didn’t have a costume,
Because he didn’t need one.
My hero was a different kind of hero.
My hero was ordinary,
Just like me and you.
He saved people with the wisdom in his words.
He showed us a life worth living.
He showed us dreams were worth chasing.
He showed us there is more than meets the eye.
But that man is gone now,
Changed by the industries,
But I believe he is still there,
Deep, deep down inside.
Clawing to reach us,
Strangling the egotistical part of him,
Just waiting, waiting to change the next generation.
