Princess Emilia was the light of the kingdom. On her first birthday there was a celebration of her birth and everyone came to give their blessings except for one witch Gelfinda who gave her a curse. Gelfinda was once a beautiful peasant who had fallen in love with the king. He showered her with gifts and asked her to be his. Unfortunately he had met Princess Lilianna of the Northern Kingdom who was to beautiful to refuse, and when the king caught sight of her he devastated Gelfinda and left her broken-hearted. However Gelfinda was one of the few in the Cult of Nine that practiced magic. On his wedding night, Gelfinda had laced Lilianna's chalice with a potion that left her barren and childless for many years. Lilianna and the King had been sad and lonely for years and their emotions reflected on the kingdom. On Queen Lilianna's thirtieth birthday the fairies had given her a cure and granted her wish to have a child. That was when Princess Emilia had been born as the heir to the throne of Boristar.
