Beware the all the cussing in this chapter.
"What?" I said blankly, staring at me.
But it wasn't me, at the same time. Her blonde hair was tangled and dirty. Blood and soot was smudged across her face. Her clothes, the ones I was wearing at this moment, were in tatters. Other than that, we were exactly the same, right down to the Converse.
"Jinx, I know you must be majorly freaking out right now but I need your help," the other Jinx said, staring into my eyes, which were identical to hers aside from the fact that hers were bloodshot and puffy. She looked as if she'd been crying. I vaguely wondered what happened to her.
I pulled out my wand and pointed it at her.
"Tell me who you are first," I said, trying to keep my voice steady. "Then maybe I'll consider helping you."
"I'm you!" she pleaded. "For the Llama God's sake, Jinx -- wow that feels weird -- just listen to me! I'm you from the future!"
"The future?" I repeated uncertainly. I noticed the time turner around her neck. I distinctively remembered Hermione giving back to McGonagall last year, but I was certain it was the same one. Well that certainly proves her point. "How many times did you have to turn that sucker? You look like you just crawled your way out of hell!"
My stomach sunk. If I was looking at the future me, then whatever had happened to her, will happen to me.
"Only thirteen times," she said, her voice thick. "That's how fast it happened."
"What happened?" I asked.
"Draco wasn't lying. In the center of that maze, is the Triwizard Cup, which Harry and Cedric grabbed at the same time. It was a portkey to this graveyard." Tears started streaming down her face, smearing the blood and dirt. "Voldemort came back somehow, and he killed Harry and Cedric."
My blood went cold.
Harry.
Dead.
My vision blurred, then refocused. But I was somewhere else. I was in a graveyard, and Harry was lying face down at my feet. I could tell he was dead. My vision blurred and refocused again, and I was back at Hogwarts.
The other Jinx continued. "Hours later, Voldemort invaded Hogwarts. We tried to fight back, but we lost. Everyone else is dead. Voldemort and I were the only survivors."
I looked towards the Quidditch pitch.
Everyone there, was going to be dead.
Fred.
George.
Hermione.
Ron.
Ginny.
Mrs. Weasley.
Bill.
Draco.
Everyone.
Dead.
I started to cry.
"Why did you come here?" I demanded.
"So you can stop it!" Jinx cried. "Please! Go to the graveyard, and stop Voldemort from coming. He used the portkey to get back. That's all I know. Just get the portkey to Harry before he dies! And don't be seen!"
"Why can't you do it now?" I asked, sobbing now.
"Because I can't"
"Why not?"
