Fun fact: Chapter 36 in the actual book was called The Parting of Ways. This is the last we see of Barty Crouch Jr., who is played by David Tennant (Yum) in the movie version. David Tennant also plays the tenth incarnation of the Doctor on Doctor Who. His first episode was also called The Parting of Ways.

Britain, your continuality amazes me.

Thanks for the birthday wishes on the last chapter guys!

This is the second last chapter until the end of this book. The preview for the fifth is up, so check that out.

And I finally understand authors why they kill their characters and end things with cliffhangers. This kind of power is addictive.

I stood there, petrified, as Voldemort examined me.

"Now, who do we have here?" Voldemort said. He fingered his wand. I swallowed. "What is your name, child?"

I stayed silent.

"I said, what is your name!" Voldemort repeated. "Crucio!"

It was pain like I had never felt before. It was like one million searing-hot knifes were stabbing at me from any place possible. It felt like they were ripping through my flesh from the inside and the outside. I screamed like I had never screamed before.

Then it stopped.

I laid on the ground, panting. I curled up into a sobbing ball. I had never been so afraid in my life.

I didn't want my life to end.

Not here, not now.

Not like this.

Not when I had so much to live for.

But I had no way to escape.

"What is your name?" Voldemort said quietly.

"Jessica Alexandra Malfoy," I whimpered. Voldemort had a joyful look on his face. He looked over to my father, who had been un-petrified, and smiled.

"Lucius' child," Voldmort said, turning back to me. "Yes... I can see the family resemblance now."

"She no longer belongs to my family," my father said. "She was disowned."

"Surely, Lucius, you would care if I were to -- " he turned his wand on me " -- strike your daughter dead?"

I looked up at my father. He looked down at me like I was dirt.

"I could not care less," he said smoothly. "She is no child of mine."

"And you are no father of mine," I replied harshly. "You never have been. I've always hated you."

"I see," Voldemort purred. "Now... what shall we do with young Jessica here?"

I heard a course of voices from the Death Eaters, saying things like, "Kill her!" or "Torture her!"

The other Jinx's words ran through my mind.

"We are Jinx Not-So-Fucking-Malfoy. We are the best Gryffindor has to offer. We don't back down. We don't forget what's important. And we don't fucking let fear run our lives. We stand up and make the change that's needed, and we do it while fucking swearing like there's no tomorrow, and by what I've seen, there might not be. So you can fucking do this, because you are Jinx fucking Malfoy!"

I decided then and there that I wasn't going down withour a fight, because I was Jinx Malfoy.

I didn't give up when I was scared.

I didn't back down.

And I swore way too much.

"May I say something?" I asked, finally gaining control of myself enough to stand up.

"Go ahead," Voldemort said. "Speak your last words, Jessica Mafloy."

I looked down and couldn't believe my eyes. It was the shovel that I had used to hit Voldemort with in my first year and in my second year. It was the shovel I had used to knock out Snape with last year.

"Fuck you Voldemort!" I shouted, grabbing my shovel before he could react. I swung at his head.

With a CRACK!, he fell to the ground.

"And that's Jinx Malfoy, bitch!" I said. The Death Eaters sort of stared at me, not sure how to proceed. I decided to make my move. There were only twenty total, but they could easily take me down before I had a chance to get them all.

I started swinging.

To be honest, most of the fight was a blur. I only remember deflecting curse after curse with my shovel and hitting as many Death Eaters as possible.

Screw wands.

Shovels were better.

Soon, only my father and I were the only ones.

I now realized how Voldemort and I were the only survivors.

No one else had shovels.

"My my Jessica, you haven't grown much, have you?" my father sneered.

"If you're making a comment about my height, I get it from you," I said.

"Crucio!"

I blocked it and grabbed my wand. A shovel wasn't going to win me this one.

"Expelliarmus!"

He blocked it.

We cursed back and forth for a bit, both of us deflecting until I was able to close in.

"Locomotor Wibbly!" I shouted.

My curse hit him. He was distracted just long enough for me to hit him over the head with my shovel.

I dropped the shovel and looked around. Every Death Eater was knocked out cold. Worried that some may start to wake up, I ran over to where Harry's Firebolt was and grabbed it. I got on and flew back to Hogwarts and away from the graveyard as fast as I possibly could.

Voldemort was back, and what happened in the graveyard was only the beginning.
